Nosler has redesigned the BT over the past few years. The old Black box bullets are very explosive. I've witnessed them blow up on sage grass. The newer design has a much thicker jacket around the base. I've had very good luck with the Barnes bullets, yes they are pricey, but if you consider it is really only about $1 for a loaded round it's about like buying a box of factory Corelokts

I have actually gone to all Barnes bullets in all my rifles. I figure I owe it to the animal to use the best bullet I can. The 1 animal I've killed with the Barnes bullets put him down quickly

I don't do ballistic tips of any kind. The Barnes, Hornady SST, Nosler Partition, and Nosler Accubonds are all fine bullets.... Ballistic tips come apart to quickly especially up close moving over 2500 fps
