The ALDCNR said they could not get involved because he was no longer a game warden.

I asked them for some clarity on the definition of hunting and could only get the canned/printed definition.

A simple CYA answer. I would probably have said the same thing.

Now, JWC, I don't know you and have my opinions that I will just keep to myself. But you a BULLDOG!!! They got on the wrong side of the wrong one. They got a hold on you and couldn't turn loose even if they wanted to. I admire you for standing up for what you believe in and seeing it to the end. I hope those kids learn from your example about standing up for what you believe in no matter where it takes you. GOOD FOR YOU!!

Now, given the facts. The State DCNR owes you a serious explanation.

wow. That's all I can say.

Very interesting read. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Serious question: while blocking the boys in, had they decided to to leave anyway and resulted in damaging the retired GWs vehicle (as I probably would have rammed it with my winch bumper), what would have been the results? Charges for destruction of property? Even though he was trespassing and illegally detaining the boys.

Anything worth doing, is worth doing right, or it's not worth doing at all!

Serious answer, in Lowndes County most likely attempted murder.

JWC, I applaud you. Glad it's worked out in the end.

I would look into a civil suit for damages and I would look into damaging everyone involved as much as possible.

Let me share a brief story. My parents were involved in custody battles for 13 years. My mothers lawyer was in a hunting club with the judge. Several laws were broken the last go around and the ruling was incorrect. My father spent $350k in those 13 years fighting things, and after the last ruling, we won the appeal and had the ruling overturned. At that point, he started a non profit organization, and went to town on Montgomery. He was a driving force behind getting a key law passed, that would prevent this from happenning to other families. McMillan and Irwin were huge helps. A few years down the road, this judge had an election coming up and was running opposed for the first time in years. My dad met the woman and determined she would make a much better candidate. He then spent months passing out fliers, writing thousands of letters to everyone he knew in the county, and putting up campaign signs. He has a ticket framed in his office, that he recieved from walking on the median on 65, putting signs in the cracks in the concrete median. Judge Calhoun lost that election, and won't ever screw anybody over from the bench again.

I share that story, because that tenacity is what I admire most about my father, and you obviously have the same qualities. Don't think you can't do anything. Read my story, you can keep this man from damaging any more people. You've got him on the ropes, take him to the woodshed.

Rusty Morrow's connections to "the system".....

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I've read the entire thread and the attachments as well. Now, I'm no legal scholar, but I can't believe anyone would buy this line of BS. Seriously? The ex-GW heard a couple "gunshots" and these kids were convicted? No other evidence? Man, I hope I never have to go to Lowndes county for anything. The justice system there seems to be a giant black hole for anyone not in the good ol boys club. I truly hope this hits the media like a tornado and the elected officials who are responsible get their due. Public shaming, civil liability, maybe even a turn on the same end of the BS justice system merry-go-round that these kids had to ride.

They should replace Lowndes County's " Roscoe P. Coletrain " , he makes the whole group look bad.

It looks like the State should have to pay back the family for all cost that it took to clear their names and a public apology. They love to have their picture made when they make a big bust for the good how bought the same for a bad one.

I'd def. try to get all my expenses back. This is where some real good ol boys should step in and serve some real justice, like a dirt road alabama ass whipping.

Why should the taxpayers be liable? Make the perpetrator make restitution.
I think the folks are getting fed up with the corruption of our government and the double standard between the citizens and those with political connections. I'm glad these folks were able to clear their name but I doubt any of the guilty parties will be held accountable any more than Lois Lerner or Hillary Clinton.

You Sand Mt. boys play too rough. laugh

Seriously, hope they "brang the pain" to ol' Rusty's wallet via a lawsuit.

As for as the prosecutor, judges and any other of the good ol' boy team on this one , they will only be punished in the court of Aldeer I'm afraid.
