Hunting Bankhead National Forest this morning. Set up in a bottom on some rained out scrapes. White Oaks putting the acorns off really good. Only bad thing is the wind swirls in bottoms. Maybe the thermals will help me out. Good luck y'all.

Im poaching. I'm set up in one of Mirage243 lock on. He has to drive by a ladies house to get on his club. She has a bunch of dogs, they start barking, I'm getting down and running. rofl laugh

I'm in Illinois listening to turkeys gobble. Had a big buck push 3 does by at 15 yds this morning before daylight, just too dark to shoot!
Then had a different buck cruise thru the field bout 45 mins ago, he was a really good 8 pt. never got under 100 yds. 3 does have walked right under me within the last hour. Hope a big buck follows them. We got pics of a typical 11 point & a stud 8, with a rack that goes straight up. Good luck men.

Well I don't bow hunt much. Just don't ever have time with 2 boys playing football and 1 girl cheering. Yesterday was our last ballgames and the kids went home with grandparents last night and the wife at work, I decided to just come sit in the woods to see what I could see. Raining or not it is nice to once again be in the woods. Good luck to all and everyone be safe.

I didn't see a thing. The rain started so I said to heck with it and came back home. I may go out this evening as long as it's not pouring

Well my luck sucks. I left my ground blind last night cause of the rain so I went in to get it around lunch. I folded it up and started back out with it and there were two bucks standing in the corn field right where I just came from. Needless to say they didn't stick around very long. I figured they would move mid day......

Total washout here. We picked up an inch of rain over night and it looks like we may pick up another one this evening. This is great weather for growing food plots but it has sucked so far for hunting. The opening weekend of the north zone was about the best hunting weather we've had. Where are some dang temps down into the 30's or low 40's? Forecast looks like temps back into the low 80's next week.

Yeah. Been warmer than usual. Opening weekend was awesome but has been terrible since. I ended up just scouting a little and checking cameras today.

You must be piddlin' where I was gonna piddle. No trucks at pull offs all the way through to where I was going this afternoon and someone parked where I intended to go. Oh well, that's public land.

Hunting Bankhead National Forest again this afternoon. Still waiting for big daddy to slip up and hit these scrapes or rubs. He probably thinks the woods are on fire, because I smell like a camp fire. On purpose that is. Good luck and stay dry.

I came and checked a camera about 2:00 (just to have something to do) and I decided to stay here in the shooting house for the rest of this afternoon. The only way I kill a deer today is if it's plumb suicidal and walks up the road right below me.

I'm present but I don't know why in the hell I'm in this stand I'm in. The wind keeps switching on me. Think I may move.

You must be piddlin' where I was gonna piddle. No trucks at pull offs all the way through to where I was going this afternoon and someone parked where I intended to go. Oh well, that's public land.

I drive a White Toyota 4x4 two door. If it was me you where out in the middle of nowhere. Lol.

Nope, it was a dark Toyota with orange cooler on back. Oh well, went to another spot I've been hunting and walked up on 2 or 3 deer already there. Got blew at before climbing so didn't even bother. It wasn't meant to be today. Now I'm home.

I've been watching 3 does and a fawn for the last 30 minutes. They're wearing out some turnip greens

Got a doe and 2 fawns in the plot grazing at 60 yards. No spots on the 2 young deer. At what point do you guys cut off on shooting a doe with fawns?

I have always been told if they don't have spots they are old enough to live on their own.

If they don't have spots they'll live. After that it just becomes a personal choice. If the young still seem dependent upon mom, I'll let them all walk so that they can learn from her. If they're just with her, that mom can die lol.

Spots or no spots, if fawn-aged deer are following a doe, I won't shoot the doe.

Man there are 5 bucks in front of me, 3 young bucks, a very old 6 I've seen for years, probably 7 y/o and 1 biiiiiig buck. I got a longbow and they're about 200 yards away. Light is dying quick and it just started pouring. I think I may be SOL.

We saw two does and a bobcat all out of range but it was a good time with little man in the stand with me!

The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week.
Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.

The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!

That was kinda my thought. They never came any closer than 60 yards so I didn't have to make any decisions.

A little late because I didn't have service yesterday. But I managed to whack another doe. Sat all afternoon in the rain, got soaked, and killed her 20mins before dark. She took a big step right as I released and I hit her about halfway back but luckily i watched her fall.
