Settled in my climber watching some oaks. It's breezy and mild here in Shelby county.

Sitting in an oak flat next to a thicket perfect for bedding. Just need the deer to venture out of the thick stuff today. The acorns are dropping its a nice morning to be in the woods.

If you are in Eutaw. What's the forecast look like for the weekend? My youngest son & I will be there to plant & hope rain is coming right behind??

Not from Eutaw, but I know if you haven't already, get your seed in the ground this weekend. Spann says the whole state is going to get 1 to 2 inches by the end of Wednesday, rain starts Monday sometime. I'll be finishing up a plot or two myself on Sunday.

Good luck guys.

Back in the same spot as yesterday evening. Had to stop and let it crack daylight so I could find my climber. I hate it when that happens. grin

I've had it happen too. I heard someone sells a red light that you can strap on your tree with a remote so you can find your stand in the dark. I need to get one.

Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

The invisible reflective trail marking spray works good if you use a light walking in. You can spray you climber rails with it

I use AlpineQuest on my phone and have all my stand locations saved. Just follow the path I have set on there. Easy and highly recommend it. Allows me to see topo maps, google maps and other maps. You can even set layers on it to see topo and an aerial. I save all my stands, paths, game cameras, and feeders on there.

It's worse when you miss it by far less! Like checking every tree in a 1/4ac area BUT the one the stand is on! blush

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

I'm a dumb ass. I should've pinned this location on my Scoutlook app and I wouldn't have had any problem.

Sunday morning I pretty much ruined a spot walking around like that! LOL
I had a long walk out a ridge, down the side and across to another ridge, in my mind there was a constant dim roadbed to walk though. When I got a couple hundred yards in the road had disappeared, it was thicker than I remembered, and I wound up way off. Sounded like a herd of buffalos, soaking wet sweating, right out in the middle of a big bedding area. I had to walk pretty much all the way back out to the truck to "start over". Should've just went home.
