Thanks for the heads up but I'll sit at home and hit myself in the nuts with a mallet before I shop there again. What happened to you at W&W?

Thanks for the heads up but I'll sit at home and hit myself in the nuts with a mallet before I shop there again. What happened to you at W&W? I went in there to buy a bow and the two guys that were working in the bow section acted like I was being a nuisance for asking questions. They were more interested in talking to each other than they were helping customers. They obviously didn't need my money so I choose to spend it elsewhere.

I will have to 2nd that as far as the archery dpt is concerned. I went there a month or so ago when I was having issues with my bow. They tried to tell me what all I needed to buy to correct the issue when they haven't even laid hands on it. I dont have problems with the store as a whole, but the archery dpt needs made into a mop and broom closet.

I agree about W&W and the same goes for every Dicks I have ever been in.I'll do without before I go to either one.

If the sumbitches would have listened to me about 9 years ago they would have one the best archery shops in Alabama. There's one dude that's been involved with the archery department since about 2003 and until they run him off it will never get any better. I shot for them one year and that was all I could take. The president of W&W, John Collins, is an absolute idiot and has no business sense whatsoever when it comes to running an archery department. If he would spend the money to build an indoor range, keep the department stocked properly and hire a good full time archery tech, they would triple or quadruple their sales. He's too stupid to realize it. All he sees is the first quarter of the year when archery sales are at their lowest. That's why he won't spend any money to set the archery department up right. One of our own AlDeer members works there part time during the busy season. Ask for Jeremy Pruett. He's JP on here. He's been trained well and if he runs into a problem he can't solve, he knows who to send a text to.

Pauls used to be just as bad. I drove up from Eutaw onct to buy some arras for my recurve. I stood and waited for the THREE sales folks to quit running their mouths and help me. I finally broke into their spellbinding story after ten minutes I asked about recurve arras, they said they only carried compound arras and turned away. I told him to F off and walked towards the front. I met Paul on the way out and he asked if I found what I needed. I said hell no and kept walking. Drove all the way to Bham to Yates Archery and had new arras in fifteen minutes. Never set foot in Pauls again....
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I get good service there in the gun department, but not archery. If you need archery work in town go to Second Season Outdoors.

To me Woods & Water has gone down hill since it was sold by Tony Laws. That bunch of Bunn's and John Collins do not know how to run a business. It was once a good outdoors store. Now it is more of a clothing store with a few outdoor items.

Here we go again. I made this same argument about this fine establishment a year or two ago. I even remember shaw saying something about them not taking his advice. Haha. Same ole song.

Just my opinion, but if you are needing archery help, I feel 10x better at a archery shop. Not a big store. Almost always get better service, more help, friendlier, and more knowledgeable. Most box stores are just about sales, not you shooting better.
