I've used those small hardhead catfish fire cutbait a few times and about the only thing that will eat them are other hardhead catfish and sharks. This, in my experience.

Don't think Permits make it this far north. Can't see real well on the phone, but looks like a small jack crevalle. That size hard heads are the ones that usually get you. Your Yankee azz wouldn't do that but once Oh. I've had one go between my thumb nail and the thumb about an inch. I don't learn real easy.
