So I bought a 700xp and Hello that thing will run like a scolded dog and It idles great. Problem is in the in between. If you try to ease on the throttle to get it rolling slowly it wants choke down. Im having to give it too much gas to get it moving because it takes off like a rocket to get it enough gas to make it go. I ran a lil seafoam in it and it helped a bit at first but not now. Is it flooding and can I adjust the carb to help this?

Are you sure it's the motor stalling and not the belt slipping

Not a mechanic but Ive actually held the gas pedal in the "bad spot" and the engine died so Im gonna say its a carb problem.

I have a 700xp and from what you described mine has acted similar in the past and it was the plug wires arcing to the head causing it to run rough at certain throttle positions. May want to look into that.

Daniel It is an EFI so no carb problem which means im really at a loss now. Hmonster did you replace the wires? Im guessing you have to go to a Polaris Dealer to get new ones?

They are notorious for having fuel pump problems

Yours is also getting to the age where the fuel pickup tube (hose) and in-tank fuel filter start to go away.

My bet is on the fuel pump.

Do NOT go the Polaris route!!!! They will tell you that you have to buy the entire tank! Get online on UTV forums and search and find what fuel pump it has. The last one I changed was actually built for a Ford Ranger pickup. It was a direct replacemt and cost about $40...compared to $400+ from Polaris!!!

The last fuel pump I changed was on our 2004. It mounted on a structural member beneath the seat, next to the tank. It was about $120 from the dealer. It's a carburated version. That may make a difference in the price of the pump.
