My two good buddies are also on this show. The other two bama boys.

I really like the Drury shows. Mainly because of how they take kids hunting on their property and let 'em kill big deer. I watched one where they took a terminally ill boy hunting. His one wish was to go hunting. I sat here on the couch and cried when he shot his first deer
We will burn that bridge when we get there

Next season will have our very on NortonZ7 sitting behind the camera for one of em.... I've filmed a lot for them. I've been to KS and TN so far. Got a few more trips to go on this year. They're very close friends of mine.

to be fair and honest I haven't watched "any" hunting show at all in probably 2 years. One thing is I cut cable and got Roku which I can still get the hunting shows through it and many more if I wanted. But honestly I just really got burnt out on any of them. Years ago when Primos and Mossy oak first got started and they were a team and hunted together and started the "Truth: series and Mossy oak camo was just getting started man I ate them up! Which I will only wear Mossy oak camo now just my favorite colors. Being color blind it just appeals to me more However I know any of it works but I don't wear it for the deer I wear it for me, lol!
Back to the hunting shows, I don't know as the years went on they just got to products pushy. You see one guy in this show pushing this product today and later on he's working for another company and pushing their sponsors products. Yes I realize that's how it works. I even got into filming for a little while but never filmed for the big shows. I've been to Tennesse to the Kid's Hunting for a Cure through St. Judes and filmed some kids and what an awesome experience that was. Been up to Kentucky to an outtfitter and done some filming for them. They own a bunch of Tobacco farms and had their reps down for the U.S. Tobacco company on some bow hunts so I filmed those guys. Actually tried getting my own show started but being here in south Alabama and really just being an old broke country boy with really nothing but these thick piney woods it was hard to get enough footage. You get a lot of "B" roll or fill in footage but not much action to produce a show. I had a few sponsors coming on board but unless you have the money to travel you just can't make it.
Those guys push products for the sponsors one day and another sponsor another day. Their paying for hunts on places that any of us could kill big bruiser bucks. It just all became so unreal and so typical and so boring to me. I'm just and old country boy and the majority of folks those tv shows are just unrealistic. They get you all worked up and go waste all your families money buying all that crap that only works on paid hunts. Yes there are some good products that make hunting more comfortable but for the most part it's all a gimmick and there's money to be made and they know it. Jealous? Hmm well maybe at first but honestly I just like good ol fashion hunting and fishing. I'd love to go kill a "trophy" and I may even one day have my dream hunt somewhere and pay for it.
When I was a kid there was a tv show that came on it was called "Poor Man's Fishing" with Larry Laveen (spelling idk) It was just an older guy going around in a little John boat in the creeks, rivers and sloughs and catching bream, crappie and catffish. To this day I really don't care about bass fishing and all those big expensive bass boats, lures, rods and reels and all the lingo that goes along with that, another money waster in my opinion. Ha! I named my little company "Poor Man's Outdoors" had a website, shirts, hats my truck was all decked out, lol!
Ok that gets me to the Druy guys, I just didn't like all the "professional" attitudes and acting like a buck has to have this kind of rack and that kind of rack and all the hype. They may be some really great guys and do lots of great stuff and I don't knock them for that. But watching their show its just not for me.
I apologize for writing so much but just wanted to explain my point and that I wasn't hating on the guys or none of you. So I hope what I wrote goes over well with you and maybe see where I'm coming from.
Grace to you all!
