Deer love rice, but they strip the dry grain off the plant. They will not eat the plant. You would have to plant it in the late spring or early summer got it to be headed out and grains dry for the deer season. But get the ole pocket book ready if you want to grow rice and do it right. Seed, fertilizer, herbicide is all expensive. But I doubt rice is your way to go. To easy to have a total crop failure with rice. You have to be able to control water levels and well just way to many variables for me to type. Call me if you want to discuss rice growing.
