Had a nail come through the sole of my boot today. Stabbed me right center the front ball of my foot. It only drew a couple drops of blood, I expected it to look way worse. It really don't even look bad but The sumb*tc hurts, Feels like it hit bone and about Impossible to walk on.

My ole lady wants me to go to the doc, I try to stay away from them places.

If you have not had a tetanus shot in the last 10 years, you should follow her advice. Puncture wounds are no Bueno.

Best get you a tetanus shot if you can't remember last time you did.

I stepped on a nail when I was 14. Bacteria in my shoe caused a bone infection. 6 weeks of IV antibiotics at home. I hate going to the doc too but better safe than sorry!!

Tetanus shot and soak it in salt water or cider.

Please DON'T soak your foot until you've seen a doctor who can determine how beneficial/detrimental the soak would be. And go get a tetanus shot. Tetanus is no fun.

The MD will likely want to put you on an oral broad spectrum antibiotic to prevent infection. This is a good thing. This is what you want. Hunting with a prosthetic leg will most likely be far less enjoyable than what you are currently able to enjoy.

tetanus is no joke. My uncle nearly died from it about a year ago. I learned then that it actually comes from bacteria. He fell in his driveway and the doc assumed it was from the chickens or other farm animals being in the area. I hate and rarely go to the doc but ill go if it gets bad enough.

"Soak in in cider" smile took me until I was a teen to figure out what my grandpa was talking about, once I found that stuff I found the heal all.

It doesn't look bad but I can't put any weight on it and My toes are stiff to move. Will any normal Dr office be able to give me a tetanus shot? I'll make a visit tomorrow a.m.

You need to see the doc. Last year I scratched my head on a nail insulating my garage. It ended up getting infected and I had to take cipro and I got a tetanus shot.

If you can't bear weight, you definitely need to be seen asap. It will likely vary from office to office, but if you have an urgent care office close by, they should be able to fix you up. If you don't have access to an urgent care clinic, you can always go to the ER. I know they'll have what you need. In my experience, ER seems to be less crowded mid morning. So you might be able to go right on back. If you don't have a regular MD, now would be a good time to get established with one.

For some reason the thought of stepping on a nail gives me the chills worse than just about any other way of getting hurt.

I don't know if the nail hit some kinda bone in my foot or just stabbed through the padding and muscle but it sure enough don't feel good.

Urgent Care should be able to administer a shot. And I too, recommend a tetanus shot! In fact, it's a must!

My grandpa said when we was growing up and stepped on a nail, they would take some kind of wood maybe like a ruler and hit the affected area several times and pour kerosene on it. I never have forgotten that.

The thought of accidentally sliding down a 50' razor blade into a vat of salty alcohol is what gets me. whistle

A few years back I stepped on a nail and it went all the way through my foot. That hurt for sure but the painful part was having to pull my foot off of the nail.I will never forget that feeling.
