Figured it get more response here...

What is so special about them??? If I read it right, they are 21 lbs which is 2.5 lbs heavier than my tree walker. They can't be any more comfortable or climb better. Trying to figure out why folks rant and rave about it being their go to for a pack in stand.

That an Academy stand? A lot of that stuff is small. I wont buy any more. I have seen a few of people buying and putting those small stands together over the years. It's hard to just flat out say hey that stand sucks.

Jared- it isn't an academy stand. It's made by Lone Wolf. They are one of the highest priced climbers on the market.

Didn't know that. But if it's small it's small.

Ok I looked them up and not cheap or small. Looks more like a bow hunter stand. The rail under the seat maybe uncomfortable to me. Looks lite and easy to use I could see why some would rant and rave.

Mine is an older model and only weighs 15#. It's very easy to set up and pack in & out. It grips the tree extremely well and is super quiet. To me it's the perfect climber for bowhunting.

I have not used a treewalker, but the lone wolf packs very tight so the weight is close to your body rather than 2 feet away from your back, which makes it seem lighter than another stand of the same weight, doesn't poke up high above your head catching on everything you walk under in the dark, extremely quiet attaching to the tree in the morning, climbs quietly and grips great, can easily adjust the belts as tree size changes as you climb higher or to climb higher than the first limb on the tree, very stable once settled in position, shooting rail can swing under your seat if you want an open front or put it straight out front to lean your leg against to know your position on the platform while shooting or move it upward to use as a shooting rest for your rifle, the platform pattern blends very well in the tree/skylight, not as comfortable as a summit. I'll have to weigh mine tomorrow, but I have one older and one newer and both feel lighter than my aluminum summit viper. The top piece is significantly lighter than the bottom piece so it feels very light to your upper body when climbing and you don't feel like the bottom is heavy to your legs.

Spot on description..I love mine. After having an aluminum Summit Viper for years, this thing is so much easier to pack in and out of the woods.

I've never used one but, I do like the folding shooting rail on the lone wolf. For the price of things I will not be owning one anytime soon. However, a lone wolf and a yeti would make good retirement idea.

I just weighed mine using a bathroom scale with me holding it and it wasn't very consistent, but one of mine ranged from 17-18 lbs and one from 19-20 lbs. The newer one was actually the lighter one. Some people don't like the seat, so they take that off and put on a Hazemore silent seat like the old man net seat. That being said, I would search craigslist and archerytalk and find a used one for around $250. I've come across 3 for $200.
