since I will evidently start back bow hunting I will need a climber. I will carry it in most hunts but will not have to walk far. I always used api climbers in the past and loved the way they dug into the tree and how comfortable and steady they were. What is the best climbing stand now?

I have a lone wolf sit and climb, most stable climber that I've ever used.

If weight is not an issue, I would go with a summit viper sd or a treewalker.

If you want to cut weight, an x stand or lone wolf might be the answer.

Basically you make the trade of more weigh = more comfort, less weight = less comfort.

As for stability, I hear people talk about this all the time....I can honestly say, I've never used a climber that I felt uncomfortable in, once I was settled in the tree. Any modern climber, is perfectly safe, if used properly.

Ben2,

Here is an older post of mine. This may be of some help to you. I went with a Lone Wolf Sit and Climb.
