I'm looking for 100-200 acres of land for private hunting lease in Northern St. Clair County (maybe Ashville area). Any ideas?

Your experience may vary, but stay away from Ragland. Unless you like people riding 4wheelers all over your place and getting crap stolen.

I live in Pell City. I have been a member of almost every club around and hunted the old mngmt. area. Be prepared to see about 6 deer all year unless you can get permission or lease private land in Beaver or Shoal Creek Valley.

I've got 65 acres in Ashville I'd sell you. Prime hunting land, plenty of deer and turkey. Flatland, foodplots, shooting houses, white oaks, clear cut and standing timber. Also has close to 1/2 mile or so of frontage on Canoe Creek. Both sides. Interested shoot me a pm. Less than 2 miles from the Ashville Court house.

Lovejoy Realty has leased land before. I helped a buddy plant fields on one of their leases. The property remained for sale while he was hunting it though. There was always the chance of somebody coming in and buying it but not too many tracts like that selling everyday. There are a lot of good deer in St Clair Co. just gotta know where to kill them. If you can find something in the flat woods of Ashville, like listed above, or Steele, you stand a good chance of killing some good ones. There are still a lot of dirt bag outlaws out there, but I think that's most places.

Def not looking for a club. just looking for land around home to lease. I have found some awesome land close by but can't get the timber company to do anything with it. just a couple hundred acres so they probably don't want to be bothered. it's not listed on their leasing website.

The county has a really nice GIS mapping system with owner info. A little time there may help you out.

The GIS mapping is how I found some awesome property. Just can't get Soterra to even discuss location to see if they even lease it. Yellow gate up and I've never even seen the gate opened. This would be perfect for me and such an easy lease for them. The last person I spoke to referred me back to their website and said "if you find it available on our site, I will discuss it." Very frustrating. They have leases as small as 10 acres available so I would think 200+ would be worthwhile.

If it isn't listed it isn't available for lease. I was over all their leases at one time. It is either already leased, listed for sale (don't want folks leasing), or has some kind of access issue you aren't aware of.

Where is it?

It's located on the North end of the County. Just off of Co. Rd. 33. Easy access directly on 33. Further research shows approx. 600 acres across several tracts owned by same company. Also several hundred acres contiguous to my home/property owned by same company but no lease info available. A club used to hunt it but we haven't seen anyone back here in many years.

It's probably owned by Molpus instead of Soterra now.

So it's on Beaver Mtn. on the west side of 33?

Yes Night Hunter. I think that would be the same area.

Tooth Doc, I know it was Soterra at one point but the way these guys buy and sell each other, tracking it down can be hard. County records still show Soterra.
