15426 ?
Does it give you the answer? No it's homework. Next question: I'm not home and my wife sent them to me frustrated. I haven't had a chance to sit down and look at them. Hopefully some of y'all's previous answers are right.

Not really sure what they are looking for, but working left to right and keeping the previous example in mind.... the first 5 is 10 times greater than the second and the second is 100 times greater than the third.

That's the way I see it. If the question is asking what I think it is asking. It looks like they are trying to teach the kids the value of particular places within a number regardless of what the actual number is ( ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, etc.) if that makes sense.

Yeah, it looks sort like a watered down base 10 approach. 10^0 = 1, 10^1 = 10, 10^2 = 100, 10^3 = 1000, 10^4 = 10000,.....
Disclaimer: I have almost zero experience with common core but have 14 or so college math courses bouncing around in my head.

If you look at the top of the worksheet it gives the standard. That is 4NBT1. That is a fourth grade skills in number and operations in base ten. Not developmentally appropriate for a third grader. There are lots of place value models your child should be using in third grade to prepare for that type of problem in fourth grade.

Yep it sucks. We sent a note to the teacher last week about rounding. Some how 487+213 would round to 500+210. And the directions just said round. I had to ask round to what. Their is no method to the math madness for a 3rd grader. That's not correct. It rounds to 500+200. Or 490+210.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
