Make sure who you are texting before you hit send. I've never mis-texted someone ever until Saturday and I did it again today.

Both times it was just generic info, but I can see where it might get ugly based on content and context. A few moments ago I accidentally texted Jughead something intended for my wife. Glad it was only about something to get at the store. Otherwise, I might have ruined his day.

I once texted a buddy a rather dirty joke........problem was, his name and "Mom" were right beside each other in my phone book.

I hit his name and "send" real fast (muscle memory)...problem was, I mis-hit the name and accidentally sent it to my mom instead. I realized what I'd done immediately, but it was too late.

I immediately called her, my plan was to catch her BEFORE she read it, tell her "DO NOT look at your phone, just take it to Dad and put him on the line" and have him delete it before she ever saw it.

when she answered, she just said in a really shocked voice "Oh my God?!?!"

yeah that was awkward.

I'm going to text you and send a PM about meeting for lunch tomorrow but I wasn't sure you would get this post.

NO worries hee. I dont text, spacebook, facepage, twixt, or whatever all that stuff is. E-mail is about as hitech as I get.If I want to talk to someone I do it face to face or pick up the phone and dial. Its worked great for 49 years.

Aldeer is about as social as I get.

I'm guilty... It's extremely embarrassing to text something suggestive to your wife about what might happen when you get home... only to realize you sent it to your dad.

He laughed it off but now I double check before hitting send.

In high school my buddy was in line at TCBY along with several other kids from school.

He meant to text a buddy when he said, "so and so got FAT" (talking about a girl in line). He sent it to her.

I've gotten even more nervous lately b/c it's apparently no longer enough to just make sure you select the right person....look at the 2 pics below. one is what I *sent*, and the other is what the other person received....it cut off the end of the text I'd typed and replaced it with text from a previous text I'd sent someone else....

ive done it. I have also had some close calls that would have been extremely embarrassing.

What is really bad is when you are 16 and you and a buddy call a girl up that lives in the neighborhood. Your buddy thinks the girl on the other end is that girl and you yell out something very "Descriptive" over the phone. Only to find out it's the mother who then calls your parents and requests a face to face apology.

I forget who it was, but I don't think it was Octoberdreamin. Whoever it was needs to post that story again. He didn't send it to the wrong person. He sent it to his wife but she was doing something and got her daughter to check it for her. Not to ruin the story, but he was telling his wife what he was going to do to her like a starving Ethiopian when he got home.

I thi k it was him. I remember that.

I've done it before. But if they know me they know I'm outspoken. So it don't suprise them.

I sent my boss one that said. What the eff, over! Meant to send it to another guy. He laughed it off. But his wife didn't. She gets his text on the I pad. Ha!

Definitely think it was OctoberDreamin, probably the hardest I've laughed at anything I've seen/read on here. His daughter's little shot as he walked in the door is comedy gold.
