I was talking to my hunting buddy who live across the street this morning as we were waiting for the school bus with the boys that it seems kind of strange with the season opener just about on us that neither of us have seen any bushy tails in the past several days? He told me that someone else has been seeing and hearing a bunch of red tails flying around mostly in the late afternoon. My tree line down the west side of the house usually looks like a well oiled assembly line of squirrels starting at the front tree in the yard and carrying nuts back towards the rear of the property just out of sight. Come to think about it, it has been really quiet. Around this time of the year I hear them throwing the hickory nuts down on the chimney and roof like they were playing a game of war. Anyone else seeing the same?

appear bright until you hear them speak.

You obviously don't live by me because they are killing the few pecans my trees made this year.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

They are resting waiting till opening day, then they'll run up and down the tree you are on. I once had one pee on me while I was bowhunting. he came down the tree to 5 or 6 ft above me and you'd be surprised how big their bladder is.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

I haven't seen many around my area in the last week, but it has been so overcast most of the time i've chalked it up to that.

when I lived in town in a townhouse, I use to put bird seed out. Every saturday and sunday morning when I'd wake up, which would be about 7;30. I'd open the glass sliding door, leaving the screen shut. While I'd watch tv. I'd also watch the squirls and chipmunks eat and talk. Then the neighbor 2 doors down ( also the landlord) got a couple of cats, and then had kittens. And that wound up my squirel watching.

In Lower Alabama, I keep my bird feeders full of chicken scratch cause it's cheap. The squirrels love the cracked corn in it, but since about a week ago, I haven't been seeing any squirrels either. I just figured they have found a more favored food source. At my camp in Georgia, they were working on the pecans.
