How is the hunting around Carrolton? considering joining a club close to there.
Also, if anyone knows of 100-200 acres for lease in Pickens county, I would be interested

Hunting is pretty good. Its very hard to find land for lease around there which is normal for good hunting areas.

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Good hunting in Pickens. More deer south of hwy 82 but I never had a problem killing em north of 82.

That area from Carrolton on the the AL/MS line is really good and there is some corps land down there close to the tombigbee that has produced good deer. Some is archery only that's real good.

I've hunted that area on an off for 25 years. What's the name of the club?

I hunted Pickens County for 10+ years. It's hit or miss. When you hit it you hit it BIG. when you miss its skank buck city and all you can do is hope for an errant buck in the rut. Actually hunted a few hundred acres just outside the city of Carollton (like 2 miles maybe). The land looked amazing, great mix of timber and pines. Saw one decent deer on it in 3 years (~140"). Always had better luck towards Aliceville. The closer to the river the better. We took 150" deer in 4 consecutive years on leases toward the Tombigbee.

The buck stops here.

Very good area..... Lots of deer....and plenty of quality deer... Been awhile since I've hunted there but it has always been a producer.....

How about the Coker area?? I saw something close to there. Is it as good as Carrolton/McShan?? I'm looking for somewhere that manages for trophies and has early rut.......I'm in a club in South AL already that has late Jan. rut and want somewhere to hunt Christmas through mid Jan.

Closer to Pickensville. That my friends is the top typical bow kill in Alabama last season. I'm putting a bowstring on that young lady's and her fiancée's bows Sunday afternoon.

Does that card below the mount say it scored 169? I would have guessed more than that.
