I'm on the shooting house committee and we have worked several weekends in June and July trying to wrap all repairs up prior to bow season.

I make it up there about every 3 weeks. In fact, headed that way here in a few minutes to do a little prep work and maintenance on the food plots. Luckily it's a cool 93 degrees today...

We put 20 loads of river gravel on our roads today. Worked on a new shooting range and preped for a rock fire pit.

Not going to be doing any thing on mine for a while. Laid up recovering from surgery this week and going back to work monday. By the time I get back to work I'll be so far behind, club work is going to have to be on the back burner for a while.

What you do today, you have to sleep with tonight.

If you don't mind my asking, where do you hunt?

I've never worked other than stands, the crop farmers mess with the 400 acres or so of crops hehe laugh

Let me guess something about ya'll that answered this way:

1). You own your own land.
2). You live on or a reasonable driving distance to the land.

Another question on that matter would be if hunting ended, would you stop working the land? I going to guess again that it might change but ya'll wouldn't stop. You just love the land and outdoors.

Yes and yes to your question and I would keep working cause I wouldn't let my place grow up or trees just lay there when they fall. It's part of the pride of ownership and thanks to landowners that let me hunt their place to keep as nice or nicer than what I own.

I work year round on family owned land and a place that I get to take care of and hunt. I'd do it even if I didn't deer hunt. Love working and managing land.

About the only time we take a break from working on our place is of course during the season and between deer and turkey season. I've already spent probably 25 seat hours on the tractor getting stuff done. We are about 40 min from our lease. It's close enough.
