Thanks.. Thats what I was looking for.. Price tag don't make a gun, if so the 870 and Moss. 500 down been gone.. I would humbly suggest and caution that if you decide to buy a Turkish auto, that you buy the Weatherby. To my knowledge, Weatherby is the only company that is importing parts for those guns (they're all made in the same factory in Turkey off of a Beretta gas design) and standing behind them warranty wise 100%. I wouldn't trust Mossberg International, Tristar, or any of the others to do the same. I know for a fact that Mossberg International will just tell you tough chit if their Turkish auto tears up. That, to me, is totally unacceptable if repair is required. I will have to say after turkey hunting with a Stoeger for 11 years I disagree slightly. That Stoeger never failed to fire any load and I'm rough as heck on my equipment. If they made a youth 20 it would be a no brainer for me. The young man I sold it to 3 yrs ago is killing birds of all kind with it to this day. You could find me a sweet Italian 20 cheap and return the favor on that half priced Extrema I turned you on to a couple of years ago.

You could find me a sweet Italian 20 cheap and return the favor on that half priced Extrema I turned you on to a couple of years ago. When I caution against the Turkish autos, I am generally speaking about the gas ones made off of the Beretta 390 gas design. I.E. the CZ, Weatherby, Tristar, and Mossberg (there might be others...not sure). The design is fantastic, but they simply have lesser quality materials vs. an Italian gun. Hence, I wouldn't be a bit scared to have one as long as the particular company importing it was standing behind it and had parts ready to fix it if something happened (given the lesser strength materials used). I know that Weatherby does so with their SA series. I also really like how they give you a pair of different gas pistons...one for light loads and one for heavy loads. Another really neat feature. I totally agree with you on the Stoegers made in Turkey. It's a different animal as it is an inertia driven, Benelli design. Definitely cheaper materials than Franchis and Benellis but a fine shotgun nonetheless. They seem to stand behind them after import into the U.S. too. For the record, they do make a 20 gauge in the Stoeger. I think the number is M3020. I'm not sure if they make it in a youth gun though. Would be sweet if they did! I would be honored to help you find a great deal on a Beretta 20 in a youth config. I love spending other people's money. One of my favorite past times.

I bought my wife the weatherby sa-08 20 and she likes it. I also have a 11-87 20 compact that is pretty sweet. My vote I guess would be a franchi affinity 20, my 15 yr old has one in black.

The Franchi Affinity is a unique bargain. It's made on the same assembly line as the Benelli M2's from the same quality parts. The difference being the location of the recoil spring, the stock, and the price. The Weatherby and Remington are also good guns. The question becomes,do you need the extra longevity of the Italian assembly in a gun that might not be fired even 3000 rounds in it's life.

The Franchi Affinity is a unique bargain. It's made on the same assembly line as the Benelli M2's from the same quality parts. The difference being the location of the recoil spring, the stock, and the price. It is the best deal going on new/recently produced shotguns. No doubt about it. We owned one (compact) for a good while that my son killed a bunch of doves with. I eventually made him choose between it and a 26" barreled Beretta 303 that I procured at a good deal. He eventually reached the same conclusion that I did with inertia guns....they have noticeably more kick vs. a good gas gun and aren't as conducive to getting back on target after firing and also that they are SO lightweight that they are whippy when swinging them (granted our was a 24" barreled version though which adds to that dynamic) vs. the smoother swing of the heavier Beretta. If I had to choose one shotgun to do everything I do with shotguns, it would be Benelli or Franchi hands down because extra weight is OUT for me tromping through the mountains turkey hunting. However, I just can't use a gun with a regular stock while turkey hunting. I've got to have a pistol grip because my right wrist has been broken and keeping it at a weird angle while waiting on a turkey to arrive kills me. Hence, I keep a dedicated pump gun for turkey hunting and a Beretta for most of my wing shooting. It all just depends upon what the person prefers/needs. You can't go wrong with an Italian made Beretta/Benelli/Franchi though. I love em and won't ever own anything else after owning Brownings, Stoegers, Remingtons, and Mossberg autos at one time as well.

Ok, I'm looking of one of the wife. Looking at a 1100, or affinity. any other choices I need to look at Wouldn't the wise thing to do be to take her to some gun stores and find what fits her? Being it's her gun. The reason I say this is because I brought home 3 different guns for my wife, before I finally had her go with me and let her do the choosing. Once she handled the SX3 20ga she didn't even want to look anymore. Glad she picked it myself. She's going to enjoy a gun that fits her and costs $300 a heckuva lot more than a $1500 one that don't. Me personally I'd go with a gas gun for her

It has a short stock and comes with 4 spacers to adjust LOP. it also has shims to adjust cast and drop at heel.
