The celebrities have now taken up the cause and are out in full force, not that I would piss on any of them if they were on fire. I just find it unbelievable that they have such an open forum and the spin that the news outlets use to vilify the guy that killed the lion.

I have no interest in an African hunt, but I would imagine that if they put an end to them - there would be a SERIOUS economic impact on many, many of the areas.

Hunting is the only thing that saves some of those animals. If they aren't hunted or don't have an economic value they aren't worth protecting in a lot of Africa.

Uncle Ted already has, what pisses me off is I bet none of these people bitching about the lion gave two chits when those marines were shot and killed in Chatonooga,it's sad that they protest the killing of a lion in another country and could care less about people being killed right here at home

I've read several articles where native Zimbabweans, black and white said they had never heard of "Cecil" and wondered what all the stink was about. It was just another dead lion, happens every day in Zim. They also wanted to know where all the uproar was when one of those lions ate somebody over there??? Happens a lot and nobody gets their panties in a wad over it...there or here.

The dentist screwed up obviously, but here is the deeper reality:

The anti God world puts more value in an animal then a person. The world isn't going nuts over abortion or the sale of aborted baby parts - or sodomites marching around like ISIS. Heck, the world isn't even as concerned with ISIS itself! These animal worship crazies even make death threats against the dentist!

It's totally hypocrisy and IDOLATRY!

And another sign of the times.

Now I hear where the Zims have requested extradition. My first question is; do they extradite to us when asked? If, yes, then, we can talk. If they've ever said no to us, then KMA.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The Zim government has not, that I can find, asked for extradition. Some of the nutcase tree huggers there have asked for extradition. Parks and Wildlife issued a statement yesterday saying they found no wrongdoing by the American, just the landowner and the PH, both arrested. The American hunter broke no Zim laws. This screwup ain't no big deal over there, and most of them don't understand why we think it is a big deal.

The PH claims they had a permit, ya gotta remember that Zim is one of the most corrupt governments in Africa where corruption is rampant. It would not be out of the ordinary for someone in Parks and Wildlife to have issued a permit to kill a lion on that property at all.

Zim won't come and get him. It would be the death of Safari hunting in Zim if they did, and hunting is one of the very few industries that bring money into the dirt poor country. Not going to happen.

I ain't believing 90% of what is reported on this fiasco. There have been some info coming out of Zim that appears to be accurate.

But you can bet the bank on Zim not extraditing....they aren't real smart but they are smart enough to not cut their own throat and stop the money. And extraditing any American for a wildlife violation would kill Zims safari business dead as hell.

The way this thing is blowing up, Obama will fly Dr.Dumbass over on Air Force One to deliver him personally. Maybe when his term is up, he'll take over Zimbabwe and become the Emperor he always wanted to be.

FOX is reporting this: "Though Palmer's lion kill took place in Zimbabwe, he still could be in trouble in the U.S. if it is found that he violated the Lacey Act, an animal protection law that also applies to Americans who violate the animal rights laws of other nations."

When did, or has it always been this way, the Lacey Act become a "protection law" under which other nations could prosecute or get at an American? Not fully understanding this twist.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/07/31/...e/?intcmp=hpbt4

This is the Lacey Act synopsis:

Under the Lacey Act, it is unlawful to import, export, sell, acquire, or purchase fish, wildlife or plants that are taken, possessed, transported, or sold: 1) in violation of U.S. or Indian law, or 2) in interstate or foreign commerce involving any fish, wildlife, or plants taken possessed or sold in violation of State or foreign law.

The law covers all fish and wildlife and their parts or products, plants protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and those protected by State law. Commercial guiding and outfitting are considered to be a sale under the provisions of the Act.

In 2008, the Lacey Act was amended to include a wider variety of prohibited plants and plant products, including products made from illegally logged woods, for import.

When the Lacey Act was passed in 1900, it became the first federal law protecting wildlife. It enforces civil and criminal penalties for the illegal trade of animals and plants. Today it regulates the import of any species protected by international or domestic law and prevents the spread of invasive, or non-native, species.

The best son ive seen one of the tree nuggets holding is "I am Cecil". If people would get in an uproar like this because of the shadiness in Washington we could get something done. But they are too busy being stupid

I talked with a retired federal game & fish special investigator today about this case. He thinks the U.S. hunter would be in violation of the Lacey Act only if he tried/tries to bring the illegally taken animal (hide, skull, etc) into the U.S.

In my very limited experience with the Fed GWs they will check your duck stamp. They will check you shooting dove. But when it gets to something like this they will come....but they will bring the FBI, ATF, and IRS along with them. I have seen it first hand and it was dealing with illegal Africa hunts. And them SOBs don't even wait until a reasonable hour, they'll come at 4:30 AM!!!
