Started this lick about 30 years ago with 10 boxs of morton salt and a 24" round hole. It's at the end of a field where a small valley splits two mountains. Been adding up to 100lbs of salt and dicalisum phosphate per year since. Today it's app. 30' long and 15' wide and they are wearing it out in this heat. Last 20 years I've had a shooting house 15 yards out and 15' up smile

What's your best deer from that house?

Nice. I'll bet it's near a summertime water source. That's without a doubt, the largest lick I have ever seen. Largest, pic or otherwise.

I kept one salted up in Russell county for about 15 years. Nothing but salt in it. It was on the side of a small hill next to Uchee creek near a crossing. It was about 3 feet deep, 7 or 8 feet wide and cut back into the hillside about 15 or 20 feet back. The area was one of my favorite places during bow season.

Very cool. Just the fact that you have had the privilege to hunt the same piece of property for 30 years is awesome. There truly are very few things I am more emotionally attached to than my hunting land.

AC870: Best one I ever killed was 120's. I killed a 225lb 10-point in a snow storm once. Have spent several nights in it. There has been better ones killed from it. House is big enough for 3. Several guys on here have hunted from it. It has two 16' leg post and the other side is built into a big water oak. There have been many a first deer, first buck, best buck killed out of it over the years. From does and every point buck from one horn to 12 points. I built it when I found out I was to be a dad. My daughter killed her first deer from it, my grand father was born in an old cabin 150 yards from it. There is an old church site, grave yard dating back to the 1700's and a 250+ year old white oak, 250 yards south of it. I am blessed that land has been in our family for 5 generations.

There is a wet weather creek on the North side that does hold water most of the time. There are no hogs up here so it is all deer.

I have had cameras over it several years. Got some awesome pics just not the last couple of years.
