I have a 2011 crx32 that I have shot the hell out of. The limbs have a couple splinters in them, about the size of a pice of pine straw, maybe a little smaller and about 3 inches long. Wanted yalls opinion on whether or not it's still safe to shoot. Should I buy new limbs or just drop the money on a new bow? No warranty, as I am the second owner

I would not shoot it. It's just a matter of time before they give up.

Have you had a Hoyt dealer run the serial numbers yet? You might get lucky and it be unregistered. If so, you'll be covered by the warranty. Just don't tell them your the second owner. wink

I damn sure wouldn't shoot it. Google pictures of what happens when a bow blows up and you will agree

Yeah, I've seen them blow up and it's not pretty.
Thanks Shaw... That didn't even cross my mind. I'll give that a shot. If it doesn't work I guess I'll be ordering new limbs or a new bow.

If it takes XT2000 limbs check on Archery Talk.

i would contact the manufacturer before doing anything.i dont know about hoyt but my bow company replaced limbs twice because of feathering no questions asked whatsoever just apologies,so hopefully hoyt is equally responsible, they told me it was flex cycles and that i shot my bow much more than normal so i should bring it back more often for adjustments and they have replaced everything that ever could have possibly been related to the issue , cables strings stoppers monkeytails etc.was i pissed that my expensive bow feathered two sets of limbs and cratered another at full draw, well yes, but the response from them all i could hope for they fixed it quickly at no cost to me and i never missed a hunt, that was a matthews though, and i was running 30 to 100 rounds a day through it so maybe abnormal wear was an issue,my long ass winded point was alot ofshooting can cause feathering and if ignored the limb can fail eventually, so if you shoot alot check it alot and give the manufacturer a chance to do the right thing, handled properly alot of them will.

I spoke with Hoyt and it is only covered for warranty for the 1st owner. I don't know if it has been registered yet, so I'm going to check that out. Called a Hoyt dealer and he said new limbs would set me back $200.

Hoyt has the worst customer service of any manufacturer that I've dealt with. I hope they treat you right tho.
