Rather than wade through pages of last years posts, what are the various chokes that y'all are using on your 20 ga guns for those who shoot TSS loads? I'll be joining the gang this year!

The Indian creek seems to be a safe bet in the remingtons and benelli guns in most cases.

I have had great results with the carlsons extended non ported in my guns.
They are all invector, .575 is what I use in them.

I had the best results with a Carlsons non ported .575 and a Trulock non ported .585 out of my Affinity shooting the 1 5/8 oz Big20XL load from Hal.

My affinity with 26 inch barrel liked the .575 rob roberts choke. 1 5/8 9's. 365 in 10 inch circle @ 40 yards

Gobbler here are some of my numbers from last year. I also have a pile of chokes for my Affinity. They will all be for sale I just haven't had time to get them posted. I went with the Under Taker Ported .582 shooting 8.5's out of a 1 7/8 oz load.

Franchi 1 5/8oz #9 Pure Gold .570 (10"...233 / 20"...252)

Franchi 1 7/8oz #9 Under Taker .582 Ported (10"...276 / 20"...254)

Franchi 1 7/8oz #9 Trulock .575 (10"...320 / 20"...261)

Franchi 1 7/8oz #8 Under Taker .582 "Ported" (10"...258 / 20"...226)

Franchi 1 7/8oz #8 Under Taker .582 "Non Ported" (10"...225 / 20"...261)

Gobbler, I don't know a thing about Affinity's but I haven't shot a choke out of my 870 that hasn't out performed any factory load by at least 75%. I think it's harder to find a choke that doesn't shoot TSS well than it is to find one that does.

I got caught up in the patterning and numbers for a while and probably tried 10 different chokes. They all patterned well but I was looking for a around a 65%, 10" 35% 20". The IC .555 accomplished that in my 870. I had a previous 870 that was stolen that the IC .562 gave me those numbers.

Knowing you, you ain't gonna shoot one very far, and you probably ain't gonna use an electronic sight. You oughta just make up some shells and try the factory full that came with the gun. It will likely kill one further than you will ever shoot, and the bigger pattern will make you less likely to miss. Good luck! And welcome to the Dark Side. smile
