About a bad storm this summer y'all. After being a 100 miles offshore from the coast of Alabama fishing this past weekend the surface temperature of the Gulf was 89 degrees. Mighty warm for only being three weeks into summer.

I'm with you Leroy that big pond has been quiet a long time. Btw how far out is bluewater now? We got a few trips coming up and really wouldn't mind slamming some wahooters and a some YF tuna. I was in the wheelhouse with bobby walker in August of 04 and he pointed to the water temp at 91 and he something was gonna pop. Well a month later we had Ivan

I was in the wheelhouse with bobby walker in August of 04 and he pointed to the water temp at 91 and he something was gonna pop. Well a month later we had Ivan We never got to the blue water at the farthest rig the MICA. It was green and dirty. Most reports have it at 120 but we didn't want to risk the fuel going that extra distance. No wahoo or bull dolphin caught and the tuna bite was at 500 feet and was sparse at best. We hit a broken up weed line at 65 that look promising maybe in a couple of weeks but you never know depending on the seas and current.

Thanks for the info. We're waiting hopefully bluewater creeps in late July. But the MS river is dumping a lot of flood waters out keeping it dirty. Boy we tore the YF up at Nakika and blind faith a few summers back. It was crazy sick couldn't keep but 2 lines out at a time. Long ride back wore slap ass out and 130 mile ride.

I'm just saying! If it were to happen I would die an old man writing up storm damage property reports at the Port of Mobile. She's just awful warm that's all.
