If you live in Hoover then you are only about an hour drive from some great public hunting.Talladega N.F in Bibb and Perry co.is some great hunting.I have several on the wall and hearth that I killed off that land. You just have to scout. That simple. That's encouraging to hear. I'm moving more away from hunting the WMA's and focusing more on the national forests. Saw deer about 50% of the time when hunting the Talladega National Forest south of Tuscaloosa. Hardly ever run into other hunters out there either. I'll certainly be out there more in my 2nd year of deer hunting. I'd stop talking about it if you want it to stay that way lol They are more than welcome to come spook a deer my way.

If I were you I would get info on hunting at Oak Mountain State Park. I know there is some hoops to jump through but if your into bow hunting it would be worth looking into. If your in Hoover you could be hunting in 20 minutes from your driveway.
kill em all let God sort em out

It is further than you want to travel for a day hunt, but Lowndes WMA has good hunting with the bonus of a large pig population. There is also excellent camping facilities closeby at Prairie Creek.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
