I need an inexpensive ladder stand with a platform big enough to bowhunt from (standing up, repositioning, etc). possibly even 2.

Whatcha got?

yeah someone mentioned those a while back but I'm gonna need a bigger platform than that. That one will barely be big enough for my feet in boots.

If I was rifle hunting from it I'd definitely jump on it though

Me personally...I believe you'll do better in that ladder than you will anything else. It will keep your movement to a minimum. Movement is the name of the game when bow hunting. I've killed an absolute pile of deer out of a 15ft ladder with a small platform. Just thought I'd throw that out there for you if you were on the fence about them. wink

I would agree with this. I'm a big guy and have been using these or similar ladders for several years. The small platform isn't great for having a lot of room to move around or sprawl out when sitting but when it comes to taking a shot while bow hunting it's never been a problem. It actually forces you to stand and move slowly as you turn to take a shot. My cousin who hunts with me wears a 14 or 15 shoe and never has had a problem with them either. Don't get me wrong; I have other ladders that have more room and are more comfortable but for the price they are hard to beat and they get the job done. Take it for what it's worth which prob isn't much. It's just another opinion.

If you're concerned with the foot platform, use a tree seat and use the seating platform as your foot platform. As long as you're wearing a safety harness, you don't have to worry about the safety issue.
