Anyone had it? Happy with results?

I know I can call, but hard to get insurance to cover?

I've had it, worth every penny....kinda like a boob job, insurance ain't paying for it. If your employer offers a medical flex spending account, you can use that to save some money through taxes.

My wife did and she went from blind as a bat to 20/20. She is very happy with it and would do it all over again. Seems like we paid about 4k to have it done.

I had to pay out of pocket but is was worth it. Instead of laser surgery, Dr. Swann suggested I have the old scalpel cut method. Takes twice as long to heal, but heals stronger. I am a person likely to poke a stick in my eye on a four wheeler, or get punched in the eye at work, so he felt the old way was better for me. Cheaper also which was a plus.

All I saw was fuzzy figures for a couple of days so have some books on tape handy if needed so you won't be bored out of your mind.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Since I wear trifocals, it isn't much of an option for me. I did, however, read the other day where an opthamologist has invented an artificial lens. Your old lens is removed, and the new one is rolled up and injected into the eye. It unrolls, then is moved into place. Doesn't degrade, so it's supposedly a permanent fix.

I had it done back in 2001 when they still did it the old way. Definitely one of the best things I ever did. Zero regrets. If you can afford it, then do it. Do your homework on the doctors though. Talk to folks who have had it done by the doc you are looking at. Back in 2001 some doctors would have a laser brought in for surgery days. That was a red flag back then. Not sure if docs still do that now or not.

Good luck with it.

I had it done 17 years ago. I went from not being able to see the big E on the eye chart to 20/20. I would do it again in a heart beat. It's by far the best return I've ever gotten for money spent.

The only drawback I had was for about a year after the surgery, I had a halo around lights at night. That has gone away though.

Never had the halo effect, but I got the starburst effect. Fireworks around every streetlight sans the boom. Eventually it went away also.

That is what they do for cataracts now. Painless, quick and simple. And insurance pays for it! Had it done last winter and I don't wear glasses now. Glad I didn't have the laser. I don't know why they don't do the lens replacement instead of laser. I guess there is a good reason.

My brother in law had ICL surgery several years ago. His right eye was giving him serious trouble watering up & so on he even wore a eye patch for a month!. Come to find out his lense was backwards. The doctor told him they come preloaded & it was loaded backwards..

Had it done 10 years ago with zero problems. My wife had it done and had to have to have an adjustment but her eyes were really bad. Her contact lenses were 9.5.

I was told it would hasten the need for reading glasses but I that didn't happen with me.

I had perfect reading vision until getting my eyes fixed. The Dr. told me it would speed up my need for reading glasses. He was correct. Within two years, reading glasses were a necessity.
