Wore out several as a kid. Loved 'em.

I bought one for my son, my brother, and me for Christmas. I hope to get the three of us together soon for some walk and talk critter slaying soon. When I was a kid I wore out the neighborhood squirrels and birds with mine. Now they make these crazy things called sling-bows that some crazy nuts go deer and hog hunting with. google up sling bow, you will be shocked.

I used rocks most of the time and bearings now and then, probably the size of a 40- or 45-caliber muzzleloader roundball bullet.
The sling bows are crazy.

True Story. I lost the use of my right arm years ago and learned to shoot by holding the webbing in my teeth and the handle in my left hand. The place I worked had hundreds of pigeons and on the weekends and night shift half the crew would bring their sling shots and would hunt and work at the same time. Not to brag but I got to where I could kill as many as 5 other guys put together with that thing. I drew a pic of a turkey head and neck on a piece of card board and won a bit of money in the break room off a couple of contractors one time. I've thought about getting back into it and trying to kill a gobbler with one.

Does anyone remember moose pellets. We would buy them with our allowance from the Walmart. They were nothing more than a polished bearing sold as slingshot ammo. They came in a pack of 30 if I'm not mistaken. My brother and I had a lot of fun shooting those things.

Used to be an older gentleman in Franklin County and that is all he hunted with. He was as deadly with one as I was with a gun. He used ball bearings about the size of a marble and he wore overalls everywhere he went. Can't remember his name, but he was deadly with one. He even shot a six point with one at Cedar Creek Lake, but that didn't go to well. He shot it in the head, but wasn't able to kill it.
I can't stand a thief.
