Anyone hitting the lights at Smith yet? I plan to try in a few more days, once my addiction gets shut down (turkey season).

I haven't had any luck yet. I know a few who have. I'm going tonight, so we'll see if things have heated up any.

I bet the water still looks kinda like a yoohoo drink. Let me know how it goes, if you don't mind. I'm wanting to get the kids up soon as it starts getting right.

I always target stripe first. After that its bass. I've caught as many largemouth/spots on them as I have stripe.

Crappie for me and the kiddos. Nothing like a calm night on the water with kids.

There weren't any crappie visible on them two weeks ago, either.

Where is Millers my friend? I've heard about fishing the lights on Smith but never knew where.

Clark, just put in at any launch at or after dark and you will find lights everywhere. The hard part is finding productive lights.

Pretty sure they are talking about boat docks/houses with lights...

Yes, that is correct. I have never loaded the boat off of them, but they can be enjoyable with kids.

10-4

Do you guys fish jigs or do you prefer minnows for lights? I'm usually a jig guy but I'll fish whatever works.

Both, like jigs best, but sometime will just do something different with the minnows.

Went Sat. night, this is the earliest I've tried lights, and they don't appear to be there in good numbers yet. Did catch a ton of stripe in the 2-5 pound range.

Which part of the lake are you on? I'm going up to crooked creek this weekend and hoping the stripers are still up there
