I set out 5 bushes last fall. I put aged pine bark mulch in the bottom of the holes then potting soil and peat moss mix around the plants. They are all looking good right now. Should I add a fertilizer and if so, what?
Thanks!

A guy I know dug in a bunch of lime about a foot below and down the rows along side of his blueberry orchard. Every year he produces enough to turn the county purple.

They need an acid loving fertilizer. I have around 200 blueberry bushes and only use cotton seed meal.

We had a long row along dirt road. The county road dep covered the road with lime stone. Berries started dying off. I moved berry bushes to another location 4 years ago. got them established. a few of them got the ashes from our fireplace. (Just like adding lye, or caustic , or lime) it raises the ph of the soil. Berry bushes started looking sick again. Checked on what to do and found out Blue Berries like acid soil. Just like azealia bushes. We stopped putting any lime or ashes around them. They are doing better now. Check ph of your soil. Adjust it to what the berries like. you probably want to adjust to about 6.5. Lime gets ph up. Acid will get the ph down. OH. The best producing bush we have is the one I ran a drain pipe underground from my fish cleaning table to it. Last year we put around eight gallons of berries in the freezer from the single bush. We still have plenty in the freezer.

Put a handful of sulfur around them for a couple years if your pH is over 5. Also if your leaves have a yellow tint after leaving out the pH is high.
