the new Star Wars movie is due out later this year and they've just released a couple of trailers for it. It looks like it's gonna be awesome. I've just added the 3 originals to my Netflix - haven't watched them in years.

I hope the acting is better than the last bunch. I could have done better than the guy who played the teenage Darth Vader.
I have been so disappointed with most sci-fi movies recently because of poor story lines, poor plots, poor acting, poor dialog and poor character development.
maybe they can figure out how to quite relying on special effects, simply make them part of the movie and start making real movies again with real actin, real characters and real dialog.
Fingers crossed on this one and the new Mad Max... Hopeful, but not optimistic.
This one will be fun to watch kind of like the newer Star Trek movies, just because I've seen all the other ones and it's kind of like a giant television series now.

the last few (Ep's 1-3) sucked b/c George Lucas can't write dialogue for crap (not my opinion but the general consensus from what I've read...I haven't seen 1-3) and that he relied way too heavily on CGI.
this one was done by JJ Abrams. supposedly he tried to keep a lot of the action more life-like/realistic and supposedly they're saying this one looks freaking amazing even before they started adding in special effects

Man the geeks are having orgasms left and right just about the trailers. Every where I went today people were giddy. Now I'll admit I've liked the movies and will eventually see this new one when it releases, but I haven't lost my faculties over the trailer release like a lot have.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The books were awesome. There were a number of side stories as well as new characters.
They go so much deeper than the movies can. I hope Lucas is smart enough to take his story from some of them. If he does it will be awesome.
I'd love to see Grand Admiral Thrawn throw down in the movie.
The authors weren't afraid to kill off characters. They killed of Chewie, Han and Leia's youngest son (who was a grade 1 azz kicker) and eventually turned their Oldest Twin son to the dark side.
If any of you like to read, and like Scifi. I'd encourage you to pic the books up. There are timelines out there to read them in order, but most are written in such a way as to stand alone.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
