I recently bought a pair of the Danner snake boots and I want to take care of them. What do you use on your boots to keep them waterproof and to keep them from cracking? I know that someone mentioned Obenauff's leather protector a while ago. What do you use and how often do you use it. The only thing I have ever used is mink oil.

I slather mink oil on mine and then heat it up with my wifes hair dryer .You can see it liquify when you get the dryer close enough to it.That allows it to permeate the leather. When it cools just wipe off the excess with a paper towel.Works great on saddles too.

I use mink oil regularly too. Never have heated my boots like that though. Might try it.

Atsko Sno-Seal. Superior to mink oil.
Use a blow dryer to warm them up .

I've used SnoSeal. I always heated the boots with a hair dryer, prior to application.
