I have a 1947 Toyota Tacoma 5 cylinder that was manufactured in 2001 and I drive every day to work 7,098 mile round trip. It is stock with 78 unicorn power (200 hp) It makes its own fuel and the only thing I've ever had to do to it is rotate the headlights and change the wax ring under the seat. It pulls my little red wagon like it's not even back there! Hell DC and yekrut can ride with the windows down and there is only a slight power difference due to their ears flapping in the wind. Been thinking about selling it. Just not sure anyone can afford it. These damn things go up in value with every mile. Kinda smells like farts but I like it. laugh

Mine (same year model and engine) has never skipped a beat. 1,567,293 miles on it and still going strong! The only thing I've had to replace is the tires about every 500k

No. Have you never seen the 47 yotas or what?!? It only has tires on the front. It just has rims on the back for better traction! Do some research!

I see more Toyota engines in a week than most folks see in a lifetime. That count?

My Dad was born in 47 and has one that was given to him at birth. He applied for social security and was denied. He registered the truck and now he gets double! He drives it down to their office in Bessemer every month because he's afraid the mailman will break down.

I've got a 48 model and use it to pull my 600' catle trailer. I just wish i had a goose neck hitch in it so I could pull an 800' trailer.

I only have 11,345,972 miles on it. It is due its second oil change pretty soon.

I have a '52 model with 17 light years on it.

Just put my first set of brake pads on 'er last week...figured I might as well rotate the tires while I was at it.

If I remember right, in 1955 they had the optional ky dispensor in the glove box but the rear end was bad about getting loose.

Has Jeff worn that? If so that would explain you introducing us to Mark every weekend for the "first" time.

Can't wear out something that self-lubricates....they oughta make tires out of 'em, you'd never have to buy another set

I upgraded the headlights on mine to the halogen bulbs. Worst thing I ever did to it. Now I have to change the halogen fluid every 100k miles. That stuff aint cheap you know.

Mine just got me a ticket. I took it to the woods turkey hunting, and the GW said it was baiting.

Here ya go....it was from the BBC show Top Gear (the greatest show ever made)

they burned it, drowned it (in salt water), ran it through an RV, dropped it from a crane, hit it with a wrecking ball, put it on top of a building which they then imploded, and it still ran. they finally gave up, DROVE it into the studio and it became a part of the show's set.

Mine will make a Beer Run for me.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I bought the offbrand Royoter, just as good as the Toyota so far. Got it for 12% less too! I've had to do a few repairs to the engine though as mine doesn't have unicorn power but jackass power. But over all it runs good except for the gaskets...made of recycled banana skins rather than pure platinum. And the brakes and paint...just some touch ups really. Does ok in the mud, but that is why I have my offbrand 4wheeler for---Papasaki.

But over all it is just as good as the Toyota.

grin

This is gonna seem like a stretch but during this past hunting season. I was headed back to my Toyota after a morning hunt. I had parked in a corn field. Standing beside the truck was a Turkey, a covey of quail, and a smallish 14 point piebald buck. Toyota's just plain attract wildlife.

The corn had nothing to do with it. Those trucks and their owners, smell an aweful lot like estrus and tampons

the yota is a straight panty dropper too, they know I'm working with a monster, when they see a big man in a small truck.
