I was in Lucky Buck several years ago and took some nice deer there. Very good hunting when I was there. Had too many rules and only were enforced depending on who you were. May be different people running it now I had a local processor tell me the club president and another member got in a fist fight a few years ago in the clubhouse yard and after that season they split up and the Lucky buck now only has about 650 acres and a new club called Arrowood was formed and they now have about 800 acres of land that was the Lucky bucks. Where the Lucky bucks clubhouse was is no longer there but just a few hundred yards up the road is the club for Arrowood. I do not know who runs either club now and the whole fight thing is what a local processor told me but I hunted there when it was all 1 club and was good hunting on all that land.

Cool. Is #26 on the new road still a hot place? I know it used to be one of the best places there.😃

Yes 26 is. I was in the club from 86-94 when we ran dogs. I just got back in this year.

Lucky Buck has about 1000 acres. Mostly Weyerhaeuser and a little private land. Bucks are 3 points on one side but most that are taken are 6 point or better. Does can be taken up through December 15. This year we had 9 members with only about 5 hunting. Dues are 750. I think Arrowood only has about 650 acres. The guy that runs it was asked to leave lucky buck because of the "fist fight". The land he has is private land that he took away from the club when he was asked to leave.

Thanks for the info Smoke Diver.

How is the hunting in that area of Fayette Co. Have talked to a cpl clubs in that area but have never hunted that part of Fayette Co. and was just trying to find out what the deer population was like in southern Fayette Co. From Hwy 89 over towards Hwy 171 and 159. Basically between Fayette and the Tuscaloosa Co line.

I think the area is pretty good. There is a couple private land owners in the area or joining us that have been buying up land. One has almost 2000 acres and another around 1000. That land is not hunted hard so it's helping the population. I spent the last 19 years hunting over on highway 159, south of Ashcraft corners in Pickens county. I think the hunting is better over there.

I am speculating that Johnny runs Arrowood and if so he is the reason I left the Lucky Buck about 8-9 years ago. It didn't involve me directly but about midday one day several members were sitting at the club and he asked our opinion on something and he didn't like the answer and 2 members and him got into it and he wanted to fight that day. I didn't need to be in a club with a president that hot tempered so I didn't get back in. I really enjoyed hunting there other than that.

My dad and me were in Savage Creek for years. Good deer, typical Fayette county cutovers, pines and thick and also has some pretty hardwoods. Always saw lots of deer and club is run good. Last was in it about 6 years ago. My dads good friend is still in it I think that they are a little north of $1000 a year now

I was in Bambi hunting club on the sipsey. Nothing better than that swamp. Hunted it 7 years. Its a 2 hour drive now so. A great club though southern Fayette county off Canaan rd. At least a mile of river frontage about 1400 acres 6pt or better. Well established club over 40 years old.$600 a year
