I am sure most people myself included have a maximum amount that you will or can pay to join a club or lease your own land. How do you come to this number. Is it so many days pay or just a number you feel comfortable spending on hunting. For myself it is approximately two weeks pay. Not sure how I came to that amount but looking back over the years all the clubs I have been in have been somewhere around that amount. Just curious how everybody else comes up with that number.

It's getting less each season. I try to limit mine to 3% or less of my income.

That's total expenses on hunting, not just the lease.

I'll spend $2000 for the right club but that hurts. I can't see spending the money some do but I don't make the money they do I'm sure. Hunting has really gotten ridiculous it cost so much these days.

For me it's just a number I came up with....I will not spend more than $2000.00 in dues to hunt in Alabama.

Depends on what the club offers. I have my own private land, but I love having a big block in a good hunting club. I will pay anywhere from $500-$4,000, and will only pay the high end if it's everything I ever dreamed of and more.

Most times I find somewhere decent it is around $1500-$2500.

They way it's getting I doubt we can find any club worth anything for less than $2,000 in the next couple of years. I'm at $1800 and have decided $2,000 will
Be max then will just pay and go on a guided hunt or a lease in Illinois or Kentucky.

That is cheap wish I had a good place to hunt for that price.

I would also think that to find a true trophy club with nice greenfields and low members per acers unless you own a bunch of land will cost you $2,000 and up. Sucks but it seems that is the way it is. I have been looking hard and this seems to be the case.

If a Club is producing solid 130 plus inch bucks a year and up I wouldn't have a problem shelling out a little extra but I cant see paying thousands of dollars to kill a deer .
I guess I am different i am not a killer i look to kill one good buck a year if i do that i am happy but to each his own .

I feel exactly the same way If I could kill one mountable buck say 130+ and a couple does to eat each year and see deer most of the time I go hunting I would be happy happy happy and wouldn't mind paying. But even then there is a limit I guess.

I pay $500 a year. There are several sections, plenty of room to hunt, but it's not crawling with gobblers and trophy bucks. I mainly joined because 1: they run dogs, 2: I can afford it, 3: It's very close to home.

I'd have a hard time paying for anything above $1000. But I can't blame other people for paying more. If I could afford a $2000 membership in prime land over flowing with animals I would. Some people spend many times that for a single guided hunt.

I can't afford to join a club. I've been in several over the years but the price has gotten too high!

When hunters stop paying $10 + per acre to lease pine forested deer deserts maybe the price will come down.

My suggestin to you if that's all you want^. For your one buck Go hunt a week in western KY public land LBL, H&H.... It'll cost you a total of $500. Then kill your does on public land in Alabama.

I think all of us would like to have a few thousand acres leased for $2 an acre, but it ain't going to happen. We are paying between $8 and $11 for the land we have and if we fail to pay that for it the timber companies wouldn't have any problem leasing it to somebody else.

central ala,
$0 on club dues. But I'm afraid to know how much I spend on wildlife. I just spent $897 for seed and fertilizer for just 1 field. I have feeders for squirrels. I feed birds. Deer feeders. Dog food for foxes. Foodplots for deer and rabbits. The best money I spend is feeding lead to coyotes!!

I have a small lease that I picked up last year for the wife and kids...debating whether to keep it this year or let it go..can't really afford it by any means but the kids love to hunt..it's 267 acres mainly pines with a few little fields..the cost for this year will be $2005.67..then I have to factor in planting, putting out minerals and corn as well...last year I had to pay someone to help disc the fields..so after that and buying seed etc and building a shooting house and buuing a ladder stand etc..I had atleast $3000..not sure I can come up with the money this year by July.
