Had one check out our feeders last weekend. Didn't stay around though.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I've got em fighting over the feeder already. First one I saw was last weekend which I thought was pretty early. Every house around here seems to have a feeder. They are well taken care of.

Bob ya might not have the right mix. If you have one checking it out then they should stay around. I always put 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. I use ground water and not city water. I also never use the store bought crap or the food coloring. If it is in the sunlight, it will sour in less than a week so its gotta be changed. Keep an eye out for ones with bands on em. They banded a bunch at Ft. Morgan last year

That's interesting about the bands, has anybody ever seen the Rufous birds? All I ever see is the RRT.

We had one Rufous that was around most of the winter. About 5 years ago we had another one that was around the whole winter. We have 4 Ruby Throats so far. We mix about 1/3rd qt of sugar with hot water and keep it in the refrigerator until needed.

That's cool, I left my feeder's out for several weeks after last one of the flock left but none of the Rufous has shown up.

Here's a picture of a Rufous that showed up at our house back in 2004. That's Bob Sargents hand under the hand of my then nearly 5 year old daughter. The bird came though our area in late August.
