I have the Ruger Super Redhawk in .480 Ruger with the 7.5 inch barrel. I have a Burris Handgun scope mounted and shoot 325 grain Hornady. I have mine sighted in at 100 yards and it is very accurate at 100 yards. I do not hunt with it much at all II am just a big fan of Big Bore Revolvers.

When I mount my Weaver scope I will take some pics at the range. I'm going to be deer hunting primarily out of ground blinds, but I am planning to hunt some hogs to get in some practice in Tennessee this November.

I will probably use the 325 grain Hornady load as well, supposed to be light recoiling and very accurate.

I've got an 8 3/8 629 I'm going to try this year, hopefully. It's just got iron sights, but I'm going to try to get proficient out to 50 yards.

I just purchased my scope and my Ruger is still on layaway. I have read that the 480 Ruger's recoil is similar to the 44 Magnum but not severe recoil like the 500 S&W or the 454 Casull.

Yes. I love it. Got a 2x red dot on top. I think I can kill one to 50 yards. Pistol can do more than that but not the shooter. Fretted about how I was going to carry it. Almost bought big chest holster but went with sling and it just tucks right under your arm. Lots of guys shoot 70-100 grains according to Internet. I'm shooting a single 777 pellet. Bill Winke and his kids have killed lots of deer with rifle and one pellet. I figure pistol will too. It's very pleasant to shoot with 50 grains. 75 is stout.

I bought one last fall and I love shooting it. I put a sling and a BSA Edge 2-7X32 pistol scope on it which has a 12"-20" eye relief. I have put about 75 rounds through it so far and the scope has stayed true.

Nice rig. I'd been wanting one awhile. Buds had em for like $244. Bought my red dot from a buddy for $50. Got less than $300 in whole rig. It's most economical way to get into handgun hunting. I want a .357 but not ready to scratch that itch yet. I owned a nice Dan Wesson .357 once and had a Ruger .44 with a Leupold. Was guilty of trading and swapping too much in my misguided youth. I bought a TC Contender .44 Mag last fall. Had wanted one for years. Biggest disappointment ever. It was early model and not made near as solid as my CVA.

I've got a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter in 44 MAG with a 7 1/2" barrel. Just got it last year and carried it to the stand a few times, but did not have an opportunity to use it. Very well-balanced gun that have me 3" groups at 50 yards with open sights. At this time I don't plan to scope it. I will say that I love the heaviness of a Ruger 44 MAG. I had a S&W 629 with 8 3/8" barrel and the Ruger just feels better in my hand.

my dad has killed a few deer with his smith and Wesson performance center 460,both over 120 yards. Here's a nice buck he shot a couple years ago with it. It is extremely loud though. Having shot it many times,I've learned that a gun rest is the key; don't try to free hand it.

This past season was my first for handgun hunting. I'm using a Bisley's Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter in .45 long Colt with a Nikon 4x scope. I downed two does this year with it. Pretty sure I'm going to stay with it just like it is. I love how much easier it is to climb a ladder stand with it.

I've shot a big doe with my 500 Mag. Literally threw her up in the air, barrel rolled her and dropped her facing the opposite direction. She didn't so much as flinch. Hardest hitting bullet I've ever seen. The firearm doesn't kick too bad as it is very well balanced but you better be sure you have ear plugs in when you shoot it. It makes a hellacious noise!!
