Going down that way soon, are there any good outdoor stores in that general area?

The Mossy Oak outlet in Foley is pretty good. Also there is a Bass Pro Shop in Spanish Fort.

The Mossy Oak store is a rip off. Who goes to the coast and shops anyway?

Unfortunately I have to suffer through a few days of cheerleading competition before I go turkey hunting in Florida. ...just looking for excuses to get away from poofy hair, whore makeup, and moms living through their daughters ( not my wife).

Let me know when you are coming down and could be an excuse to leave work and fish...

Some high dollar fishing tackle stores but the only huntin store is BPS in Spanish Fort as others have said. I'm here now working and come this way often. Enjoy the scenery and good food in downtown Fairhope. Talk a walk down the pier and watch the sunset. You might even see Fob James there and he always makes for some good conversation.

Are you staying at the grand marriott? If so there is some great fishing right on the property. A pier and some jettys made for some good fishing. Night fishing under the pier lights was good. I caught redfish, trout, lady fish, and cat fish while there.

When you get done fishing with alhawk give me a holler. We can use yalls catch as bait for real fish.

Yes, staying at the Marriott...thanks, night fishing might be something I could pull off. I have to spend a majority of the daytime with the family. Stacking up brownie points for all the turkey hunting I'm about to do. If anyone wants to take me turkey hunting, I'll tell my wife what I think about this cheerleading crap!

Bass Pro is about the only hunting/fishing store worth going to unless you go all the way to the beach and look at saltwater stuff. There are a couple in Orange Beach area about 45 minutes from Fairhope. There is a fairly big flea market in Summerdale, but I'm not sure what days they're open.

I would not waste my time going to Mossy Oak outlet (or Foley in general), unless you need a new Salt Life tee shirt.

As some others have said, there are some public piers close by along the bay that would be worth killing some time at.

It's s nice property. There's a golf course across the road.

As far as outdoor stores, not so much in this area with the exception of BPS.

The best place is going to be at the hotel. Excellent food. Also, Master Joes (I think thst is it) in Fairhope is really good.

All over where you will be. Fancy or dives! Mighty fine eating places less than ten minutes from the Grand. Like Doekiller said the one at the resort is good as well. Be prepared to drop a Benjamin or two.

I'm on a tight budget so I ate a sub sammich at Lennys tonight. laugh

The breakfast bar at the Grand is awesome as is the restaurant itself. Just take your wallet and get ready.
