I have had nothing but trouble with this bow since I got it. At the bow shop while pulling it down on a scale to see what the draw weight was the string came off twice. The cams were so far out of alignment from the factory that the string. After 4 hours of setup and paper tuning I got it shooting at 10 yards.

Fast forward to yesterday shooting in my backyard. After 3 shots I noticed two of my nocks were broke. I replaced them with new ones. On the next shot the arrow launched into the stratosphere while pulling it back. The next two did the same thing but into the dirt. Any idea as to what is causing this? I don't want to take it back to the same bow shop because I don't think they knew how to work on a PSE. Appreciate any help.

As for the string derailing, my guess would be the yoke on the buss cable has not timed correctly. As for the bow firing prematurely, that sounds like a release issue.

Shaw I had my brother in law hold the string and pulled for all I was worth and it wouldn't come off. Do you think it has something to do with the weight and torque being put on the release at full draw? It happens when I'm about half way back. The release is 20 years old.

What type and brand is the release? Is it a double jaw caliper type?

An old Scott double jaw caliper. Nock pinch maybe?

Are you using a nock loop or shooting off the string?

The broken nocks may be from nock pinch. I always tie a nock set at least 1/8" below the arrow nock to keep the lower loop knot from pressing against the nock. As for the bow firing prematurely, it sounds like your nock loop is being pulled through the release jaws while drawing. This is common on older double jaw models. Some have an adjustment so you can adjust the gap between the jaws, some don't.

Sounds like you need to sell it and buy my Obsession! grin

Have you taken it to Full Draw on the Parkway? Ronnie is a good'un!

It looks like it was the release. I used my wife's three times with no issues. I wouldn't step foot in Full Draw if you gave me the Obsession and paid me on top of it.

I bought one last year. Worst $1000 I ever spent. My Brute x still performs flawlessly though.

Luckily mine was given to me. I still haven't shot it after the last time I launched arrows into the neighborhood. I have a new release coming tomorrow, hopefully that will solve problem.

It isnt really that bad. Mine just started making some metallic noise in the bottom cam. I just expected something I paid that much for to perform flawlessly.

Finally got mine set up and shooting consistent. I just expected a little more out of the box shootability for a bow in that price range.
