I see one possibility here. Plus they probably have any number of used revolvers that would fit the bill. I am looking for something similar (3" to 4" barrel) myself for a truck gun.

Buds has some 4" S&W police trade ins for $289. I bought several S&W police trade ins a few years back that turned out to be prison guard guns and other than a little holster wear were in almost new mechanical condition.

Academy runs their Taurus/Rossi .357 revolver on sale at times for $259. That's the gun I bought.I think its the 3" barrel and it shoots & handles good.
