I'm down in Destin till Thursday working and wanted to know if the roads and weather are good Thursday in Bham. Not sure if I need to leave early on Wednesday (tomorrow) ?? Anybody know anything ? Same for me except I'm in Lauderdale county and need to head south on Thursday. Local folks are telling me to go on Wednesday.

Unless things change, should be good from Destin to B'ham Thursday wishbone.
Leroy, as of right now I'm not sure hanging around in Lauderdale County until Thursday would be a good idea. The models have backed off on the ice and the timing of the cold air some but, unless it continues to trend North, staying until Thursday would be a gamble. The northwest corner of the state is still in the area for significant ice.

If I were you, Id stay in Destin just to play it totally safe.
Things are slowing down model wise. Precip is not supposed to fall in the Bham area until the 6am-12pm time frame Thurs. Things are still iffy at this point. Models dont do well with ice forecasts or shallow areas of cold air aloft.

You should be fine on Wednesday. I cancelled my trip to South Tenn and North Alabama but I am still planning to be in Bham on Thursday and Friday. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
