"Slower traffic keep right" I'm actually not a road rager, you'd never actually know I'm mad in traffic, but I wanna chew my steering wheel off sometimes!

If there is ANY chance, other than a high speed police chase occuring, that you would get passed on your right, GET OUT OF THE LEFT LANE(S)!!!!!!! This has become epidemic. It literally seems to get worse day after day.

Try driving a fire truck through it. No one knows what to do. They just slam on brakes or just ignore you and drive like nothing is happening.

The people you speak of piss me off as well as those that don't know how to yield or merge. Nothing screws up a good merge lane like someone coming to a complete stop and waiting for traffic to subside.

I like to ride in the left lane. I am generally going faster than those in the right lane, so I don't want to constantly switch lanes to pass people. That said, I watch my mirrors very closely. If I see someone coming up on me I get over and let them by.

YES!!!...that too! I actually thought about this very thing, but wasn't sure how to describe it. Happened just 5 minutes ago while I was coming home, and the car in front of me had to veer off to keep from rear-ending them.

Half of Marshall County drives from Arab to Guntersville in the left lane. These bastards cause all kinds of hatred at the Union Grove/Hwy 69 intersection at peak traffic times. If I were a state trooper I'd set up right there and within 5 working days I could guarantee that every swingingdick that drove that route would be in the right land unless he was passing somebody. Buncha dumb cocksuckers out there that don't deserve a driver license.

There could be a reason they are in the left lane. I took my wife to B'ham twice for back surgerys. The right lane of I-20 was one solid pot hole from B'ham to Heflin. I stayed in the left lane all the way running the speed limit each time. I wish I had a dollar for every douche bag that ran up behind me flashing their lights, blowing their horn & acting like a total idiot. If they were in that big of a hurry they should have left 10 minutes earlier.

I drive a lot, and have learned patience over the years. I pride myself in letting the big trucks in the left lane in heavier traffic. It does kind of piss me off a little when it takes 5 miles to pass someone though. Car's that ride continuously in the left lane are usually left wingers like Kreger though!

What about the dill hole that waits till you are just about 2-3 cars away from him/her in the left lane and they jump out in front of you and are going slower than they were in the other lane for the next mile. Like it takes them that long to wind it up to pass the car/truck that was in front of them. Then they flip you off like it was your fault to begin with that they cut you off.

Not to change the subject but I drive a delivery truck everyday and I`m pretty sure nobody has turn signals in their damn vehicle!!!!!!!

The red lights were all out near my place in GA the other day. Half the people would treat it like a 4 way stop, as law requires, and the other half figured that if the lights weren't working they didn't have to slow down at all. There were people coming through the intersection at 50 mph and never checking up. I wished I'd have been by myself (had my daughter ) and been in my F250. I'd have tested their brakes for them. I honestly am amazed with how few people know traffic laws. Couple that with all the people texting and driving and it's a wonder half the population isn't killed on the road.

One thing that chaps Me is when I'm coming up on someone and about to pass them in the left lane and they for lack of a better phrase, They "sense My presence", and either decide they are not driving fast enough or they decide they WILL NOT be passed.

They accelerate, so I either back off or I accelerate supposedely enough to pass them anyway.

It doesn't really matter which I decide to do, because they are going to slow down if I slow down, OR they will speed up to the point that I risk getting a ticket or slinging a rod if I resolve to pass anyway.

It's not My inconsistent speed because 95 percent of the time, when I'm on the open highway, I'm running with the cruise control on and in the right lane unless I'm passing. It sometimes takes 3 miles to pass some of these imbeciles.

You would think that people that earn their paycheck driving an 18 wheeler that they would be a decent driver. WRONG! They are the worlds worst at moving the hell over for merging traffic. If I am in the right hand lane on the interstate and I am coming up on an on ramp, I get the hell over!

I always pass those assmunchers and then pull over back in front of them and slow down until I make their ass get over.... I don't care if I'm in a hurry or not.... I'm gonna prove my damn point.... And when they try and pass...I pull right back over in front of em again... The funny thing... I always get the finger.... I just smile and wave back...which pisses em off even more....

i saw a report on today show that said cops are cracking down on ragers...instead of the jack anuses that cause it. state law in ms against it (slow in left lane holding up traffic), but haven't seen anyone be pulled over nor ever even heard of a citation being issued for it.

Let me tell yall about bad driving. Being stationed in California is terrible. Get on an 8 lane highway and the fastest lane is all the way to the right. Common courtesy sure doesn't exist and smart cars aren't afraid of lifted 4x4s. Nothing like staring down a prius in a lifted Silverado. On a lighter note I passed one of those tiny 2 door smart cars that had Browning, ducks unlimited, and rebel flag stickers all over the back window. Wish I could have gotten a picture but I was in shock.

I will be driving down from Chattanooga to South Atlanta Thursday in all the crappy weather thats suppose to happen. Well let me tell ya if you have rage issues or blood pressure problems then that is not the place to be because those idiots slap can not drive. I litteraly would love to have one of the big snow plows on my truck and just start driving and when some ass hat cuts me off or is going 20 under than just lower the blade and mash on the skinny pedal and knock them outta the way.

I was driving down I65 in Mobile last week and some jackwagon was doing 60 mph in the inside lane. Came up on a curve and there was a MPD cop sitting in the emergency lane against the wall. Upon seeing the cop, the jackwagon that had been going 60 mph (in the passing lane) then decided that they might have been going too fast, slammed on his brakes, and proceeded to ride his brakes for the next 2 miles while not getting over 50 mph, still in the passing lane.

Guess the Obama/Biden bumper sticker on jackwagon's car just reinforced what was running through my head at the time.

Something else that irritates me to no end is the idiots that don't know the rules of turning from one road to another. If there are two turning lanes, and you are in the outside lane, when you turn, you should turn into the outside lane of the road you are turning onto.

Turning off of Montlimar onto Airport Blvd in Mobile, there are at least 2, possibly more, signs with the biggest being at least 4'x6' with very large lettering, saying...
"DON'T BE DELAYED...FOR EASIER ACCESS TO AIRPORT BLVD TURN RIGHT ON RED ONTO THE SERVICE ROAD"

I was on 459 on day when the traffic came to a stop just before Hwy 280. The jackleg in front of me stopped 75 yards behind the car in front of him and the driver was thrashing around the front seat, side to side??? WTH???? I hit the horn and the crazy bastage stomped the accelerator and TURNED LEFT from the center lane Dang near hit the car beside him and ended up in the grass!!!!

there is a law in alabama that states: "slow moving vehicles keep to the right". if you are driving slower than the traffic in the right lane, you need to be in the right lane.

don't remember the title number and all that but it's in the traffic codes and folks can get a ticket if'n the officer happens to see it.

The other half of Marshall County and some Morgan City folks come off the mountain in the left lane @ 36 and 231. When the light turns green to let the highway 36 folks out, 231 north traffic still has a green light and will be damn to move over and let you merge in.

Try driving 459 or 20/59 in right hand lane and following happens. You will rear-end a car going 45mph when speed limit is 70 mph gauranteed. You will wear your car out with all the pot-holes or trenches. Someone will come in from exit and jam you up or run all over you. Best option set cruise at 75 and ride left hand lane. GET IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE IF YOU DARE. Wave at me next time!
Ever drove up east coast to New York. Traffic is bumper to bumper with speed limit 70 and everybody going 85 to keep from getting run over?

I would be interested to know if a ticket has EVER been written for this. I doubt it. I don't know the number of times that I am driving next\behind a LEO and some other yahoo does something illegal and the LEO just keeps motoring along.

I know people who after being stopped have asked the cop "why aren't you solving a real crime". I would bet that the chance of someone being killed in traffic is much greater than a robbery, burglary, home invasion etc.

So many stupid people out there. I for one would not mind having to re-take the driving test when renewing my license.

I'm pretty sure they passed a similar law in FL a couple of years back but they don't enforce it.

Another thing that grips me is why people including cops very rarely turn into the near lane when turning onto a 4 lane highway. They act like they're driving and 18 wheeler or something. Drivers will go across the near lane into the far lane when turning, then go a couple hundred yards and get back over. If everyone would always turn into the near lane it would be safer, and the lane going the opposite direction that is trying to turn could turn into their closest lane at the same time which would allow traffic to flow much better.

Yes, without a doubt. Stopping in a merge lane to see if there's any traffic and then slowly heading out.

Or ... approaching an on-ramp or merge lane with someone in it and they're not speeding up to merge in front of you or slowing down to merge behind you, yet they get pissed because you don't slow down "to let them in."

And don't slam on your brakes 30 feet from where you're going to turn.

Just so you will know when traveling to FL, it is state law to move over and slow down 20 below the posted speed limit when any LEO or emergency vehicle is on the side of the road. Many times they work in two's. One making the traffic stops for speeeding, and a secondary LEO giving tickets to drivers who don't ahere to this law. I know this is an Alabama site but many on here travel into Florida so I thought I would make sure you are aware...

Not that the simpletons read or comprehends signs - some states signs say -- KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS - this is what they should all say.

This has been a pet peeve of mine for years -I'm probably grey headed because of bad drivers -I try not even think about it anymore.
I knew a guy in Mississippi who would follow bad drivers then damage their car and leave them a note. It seemed to really help a guy in his neighborhood who drove a red dodge truck.

It has taken me 4-5 hours to get through Chicago on 94. 294 ain't any better.

NYC runs a close second. The bad thing is they charge you to drive there. It cost me $100 to get out on the Island.

Also, for y'all that gripe about 18 wheelers not getting over, 1) they don't have to,(by law, the merging vehicle has to yield), and 2) most of the time you can't see the car on the other side preventing them from getting over.

The number one problem on the road is tailgating. That's what causes the vast majority of wrecks and almost all traffic jams.

The second thing is waiting to merge. If the sign says right lane is closed, don't haul balls to the front of the right lane, then slam on your brakes to jump in the left lane.

Never suspended here but close. Wife got a speeding ticket ( her one and only ) back several years ago when you could get them taken care of. Well our contact said no problem but if it were your husband we might have to run him in. You know that lead foot doesn't help when we raced probable everything under the sun.

But if you are serious, then you have a serious issue with logic when it comes to safe driving. Idiots who ride in the left lane (unless traffic is bumper to bumper in both lanes) have no regard for anyone's saftey including their own.

Things to to consider when comes to safe driving.
1. Just because you obey the law doesn't mean everyone is going to, and it's not your job to put yourself and everyone else in harms way to enforce it.

2. Slower traffic in right lane, doesn't mean people driving below the speed limit, it means anyone driving slower than the vehicle that is behind them. So if someone comes up behind you and you are in the left lane joy riding then you are supposed to move to the right hand lane and get out of the way if possible. It has no relevance to who's driving the speed limit. The logic behind the rules of safe driving is to keep traffic from bunching up, to keep it moving, and to keep drivers from darting and weaving through traffic when passing slower vehicles. Not to mention there will be much less road rage.

3. I would just ask the question of WHY? What are you accomplishing? What possible logical reason would anyone do this knowing that it is causing traffic to pile up behind them, or at the very least causing traffic to have to weave around them in the slower lane, which is much more dangerous than just moving over and letting the traffic go?

If the road conditions are bad and it is safer in the left lane then drive there but move over when someone is coming up behind you, pretty simple...

So apparently the entire state of LA, MS, and AL read this thread and just knew exactly when I'd be driving home from work this afternoon! UGH! Every slow azzhat was in the LEFT lane. GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!

One final gripe: also can't stand the people that come to a COMPLETE stop when they try to merge onto 82 here in town. You don't stop cold on a highway to get onto it. I've almost seen some nasty wrecks because some ninny gets scared halfway up the merge ramp and slams on the brakes rather than trying to merge onto a highway in the proper manner. I remember we watched a cartoon video on that exact situation about timid freeway drivers in my drivers ed class years ago.
