Sorry for the crappy picture but you get the idea.

I don't hunt off my ATV or even retrieve deer if I can help it. Ill drag one 500 yards down the gas line to get to my truck if I have to cause I HATE a 4 wheeler in the woods. However, in the event I really had to have it for something I made this homemade silencer. I did this last hunting season around October I think it was. Made a WORLD of difference on sound. I've noticed letting the girls ride it around the yard when they go around the house or behind my shop I cant even hear it anymore. Also if they are coming towards me I cant hear it outside 75 yards or so in the wide open. It sounds like a VW bug but much smaller. grin

I tried several lengths and fittings and this worked out the best. Its 1" black iron pipe with a total of 3 90's. Used a muffler reducer from auto parts store to get down to where I needed it. This is only because mine has an aftermarket exhaust on it. A stock muffler will most likely take a threaded male in 3/4 or 1" from what I've read on the forums. You will have to play with our own setup to get it to the iron pipe but I can promise you the rest as I have setup here will work. I wouldn't romp hard on it like this in the summer months but for putting around no issues whatsoever. Thats why I went with threaded and didn't weld it up as I can take it off in about 30 seconds. I've noticed maybe a 10% reduction in power but this is only a 300. On the bigger machines it wouldn't be noticeable IMO.

So are those slits in the pipe or drilled holes? How many? I can't tell by looking at pic.

There is a local guy who has built those for years. He uses a 3\4 black iron nipple and 3 90s. His run along the back rack and mount to the bar.

VERY quite and cheap.

Video before and after or this is useless grin

Awesome job!

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.
