Had a guy on here contact me about leasing his land. Told me to go look at the land and scout it out. He already emailed me the lease agreement and told me to have it and the money and meet him today. I had put a lot of time hiking and scouting with cameras because it was "MINE". Between feb 10 til last Sunday I had been there 10 times plus. I love to hunt and scout was excited. New land, new deer, new venture. I get to the land today to meet him, I had to turn down overtime to BTW, and he says he is sorry but he had leased it to someone else. I guess it was stupid on my part to do all the scouting but there was a time where you could trust a man's word. BTW he was a 55 year old man and I am 25. You would have thought it would have been the other way around. Be careful out there with who you deal with. I work hard for what I have. I love to hunt. I eat, sleep, breathe hunting. Don't play with people. Be honest. Watch out who you deal with.

I vote that you post his screen name so we can settle this alder style.

Post it up. That way he can either explain why he's untrustworthy, or explain his side of the story (like got a bad vibe off you at the last second and made some story up to avoid confrontation ... or whatever).

We all would like to know, and to hear his side of the story.

If hes been on here awhile he will be ok with it. Hes already mustve had thick skin or he wouldnt be on so long.

But you better be sure your story is rock solid or we will unleash the gay dove hunt on your azz.

No way I'd let someone have 18 days of it is "Mine" without a non refundable deposit or a complete payment of the lease.

Was there any other communication between the 10th and today?

He lives out of state. Today was his first free day to meet me. He know who he is. If he want to tell his story he can. I just wanted to let people learn from my situation. Had to drive 2 hours last year to hunt so I was excited to be able to hunt close to where I live now. Just frustrated.

I had the check and lease agreement in the truck with me when I met him today. Had no idea he had already leased it.

You really need to air this out in public here.

Did he advertise it in the land lease section incessantly?

If that is exactly what happened I would have been highly upset. If it was close to my house the poor sucker that did lease it would probabbly have a terrible season next year. What is his name on here so nobody else gets screwed.

I doubt it because that guy doesn't live out of state and it wouldn't be close to Auburn.

No he didn't post this section of land he has 300 acres somewhere else that he posted on here. We have emailed and talked for a couple weeks about the land but as of Wednesday he was hard to contact. I should known something was us.

The only explanation he gave you was that he leased it someone else? They must have offered more money. I still find it odd that he would still take the time to meet you. I would be pretty upset, I hate that this happened to you.
