Is it illegal to hunt with that ammo? Same as any other full metal jacket but it wouldn't be the best. Just going to make a small hole and go right through. And as far as dipping the other - M855 is a 62g bullet, other is 55g. The 62 has a different bullet profile than the 55g. After you handle a few thousand of them its easy to tell the difference.

Is it illegal to hunt with that ammo? Yes. It's full metal jacket, non-mushrooming ammo.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

A pint should be plenty. It needs to be the same color that's on the tips of 5.56 M855 ammo.  Hahaha. My buddy and I were joking about that the other day. You know there's some guys out there going to do that. I guess some folks could spoof 55gr as m855 but the OP is probably doing like me, I have 1k of ss109 projectiles that are penetrators but not painted because they aren't painted until they are loaded. I'll probably just take a marker and color my primers in instead. Lot easier.

I was gonna buy some last night and it's going faster than home made ice cream on the 4th of July. I found some online at Sportsmans Guide and it was gone by the time I registered for an account. I don't actually need any but I figured another can of ammo wouldn't hurt.
