No, there is no right or wrong answer. Some people value $4000 more than a 140" deer and some value a 140" deer more than $4000. Its either your hunting land or your money, nothing illegal, and no one elses business what your decide.

You missed my point.....I would not be able to make that decision because if I ever see a 140" buck on my land or lease it will be dead. There never has been a buck of that size seen or shot on either of my properties so it wouldn't make it to the next evening to get a chance for me to take the $4000. Now for some of you guys that hunt farther north with a good chance of ever seeing such a buck you can debate on the value of it. For us down here that's the buck of a lifetime wink

Yes I'd let them shoot it for way less than $4000

Centralala,

Next time you have a deer you want a special needs kid to shoot, let me know.

I'm involved with an organization that helps special kids.

I've killed a few over 140 so it's an easy yes for me now. I'm pretty sure I would have said no 15 years ago.

I'd probably kill it myself if in Bama. A deer of that caliber in Alabama is worth more than a 140 in Kansas to me. A 140 here is a true stud a 140 in other states is a good deer but not a stud for those areas

$12,000 in dues for 250 acres in $48 per acre including food plots etc.

That's a deal for someone.

I can promise you it aint..You might as well believe in 24k gold unicorns if you believe 250 acres in Chilton Co holds 7 130"+ bucks.I hate to call you out bud but theres just no sense in flat out lying.I was born and raised here in Chilton Co and have exclusively hunted all over Chilton Co my entire life so i know about deer round these parts. Now there's some big deer here..well over 130" but they are few and far between.I have hunted this 127 acres here at my house since i was old enough to be in the woods and there has NEVER been a 130" buck taken off it.I have only gotten pics of maybe 3 bucks that would go between 130-140ish on this property ever.I have leased property in Verbena that was beautiful property.Biggest buck ever got on cam was about a 120"..Had a few 110-115" bucks killed on it but thats it and that was on 400 acres.I have a 450 acre lease right now over towards Maplesville around Isabella.Biggest buck we've ever got on cam..maybe 125"..Biggest buck ever killed was about a 125" there.Theres a place in Jemison that is HIGHLY managed for big bucks. Its about 800 acres and there have been some huge bucks taken off there. That place MIGHT have 7 130"+ bucks that stay on that property but it is very highly managed year round so for you to come here saying you got 7 130"+ bucks staying on your property is just complete bull hockey unless you have it fenced in and are on some kinda trophy buck breeding program. Now im sure you do have pics of alotta different bucks as do i on all the properties i hunt and you may have 1 or 2 that might go 130" cause there have been a few 130-160+ bucks killed in Chilton Co so im not gonna doubt you on having buck pics..just not 7 over 130+..Maybe you're just not real good at scoring deer or something.

Now that i can believe....and to answer the original question..I would probably shoot it myself since I've never taken anything close to 140"

I had discussed it with Booger, TR, Chancetribe, and another 1 or 2 on here but unfortunatley their children were unable to hunt. I didn't know where else to go. This was a hoss too. Now every year I usually can have respectable buck of around 100" that can be had pretty easy. Now that I've said that I probably won't again.

Yea, unless you have a fence around 250 acres, you ain't gonna keep deer on, just 250 acres, much less 7, 130" bucks.

If I took a child hunting and a 140" walked out they would shoot it, no charge.

If I saw a 140" step out alone I would kill it.

I would not accept $4,000 to shoot a deer on my property. They're worth more than that to me.

I would do it. Use to charge people just for a chance at a good buck. I'd just about rather guide someone than kill one myself.

Maybe Matt may have heard about Chilton 140's class deer? Can you get back to us on this? Personally would not tell you if I killed a 140" deer in my backyard in Verbena! Sure a 150" plus has been killed nearby! A lot of people I know has land down in that area live out of town invite only! I seen one close to 140" in a place you would not think nearby managed with strict rules. People generally don't provide pictures and/or correct statistics due to threat of others shooting their deer. Know of an 18 point killed about 15 years ago in Verbena by a Birmingham native. Not probably as good a chance now as years ago.
