Opinions on Ozonics? I'm new to site, so may have been topic in past. I've heard good things about Ozonics. Any negatives - besides $$.

Just one more thing to haul around. Won't work IMO. I wouldn't use it if it was free.

IDK if ozone kills scent or not but breathing it probably isn't great for you.

Millions of deer have been killed without the use of this new product. It may be like the 300.00 dollar bat, some folks gonna just have to have it. Whether it really works or not is all in your head and your wallet.

The science behind it is solid. But, I don't think that machine can create enough ozone to cover your scent. Also, it is harmful to breathe it.

My wife works in the outdoors industry- sells advertising to these folks. May be a lower cost solution if you want to try something like this. Not endorsing this- never used it. I think they want to position it to compete with Ozonics, but without the marketing budget it isn't as well known.

In theory...I like the idea of generating ozone to neutralize odors, BUT in practical terms I find it very hard to believe that the small unit made by Ozonics would produce enough volume to effectively do that in an outdoor/open environment. I believe the product probably helps if the directed flow of ozone is directly downwind and the deer is inline and up very close, but I would have to think that dilution would make it pointless at any real distance or if you had swirling winds/thermals, etc.
It is pretty heavy little unit too. I'm just not convinced enough to have to lug that piece of equipment up a tree.
You can always hunt during, or right after a thunderstorm, that's a huge ozone generator. Of course your "Ah-Ha Moment" may occur when lightening strikes the tree your sitting.

This is true. I personally called OZonics to discuss the long term effects of using their product. I NEVER got a strait answer. Plus Ozonics doesnt work = well IF the wind is blow more than xx MPH. I will also not allow a Thermacell to work. Plus if you hunt all day you will need an exta battiery. So basicly when you buy that too AND a quick battery charger = because the next day you have to charge 2 batterys. The whole package was going to cost me 500 dollars. Ozonics wouldnt answer my questions in email OR on the phone. I dont mind spending 500 dollars BUT before I do I want honest answers thumbup

Best thing may be to just hunt the wind. It's a lot cheaper anyway.

It be's that way sometimes.

Stickers, the head honcho guy on that site says he's "the world's foremost authority on scent control."

Never heard of him. Do you know abut any of his background credentials? Just curious.

All day??? Up in them ridges it blows in 10 directions at once lol. Next year I'm using the swampy method of sent control (no I ain't climbing to the top twigs of the tree) gonna hang my gear out by the fire and get some smoke cover.

Isn't an Ozonics unit about $1,500? And it's pretty big, or at least cumbersomely sized to carry around and climb trees with. It looks like it is about 8"-10" square, and maybe 3"-4" thick? The way I hunt with only a climber, I feel like it'd be too much to fool with. Plus I can't imagine spending that kind of money on it.

Works great when I turkey hunt... I've had birds 20 yards dead down wind and they never spooked!
