The Drummond place is only fenced on three sides, not along the river. I was told by the owner that they can still qualify as Pope and Young that way.

I always thought it was <50%. If what you're saying is true, that's a sham record, because deer aren't swimming across a huge river like they're running through a pine thicket, so they've got them hemmed in pretty good.

Just going by what Scotty Drummond told me one day. Haven't checked it out for myself, but I'd be more than happy for them to take to swimming the river on a regular basis.

I hunted right down river from the Drummond place in molette's bend the end of January there were large worn down trails coming up the banks of the river in that area on both sides. Those deer are having no problems swimming that river in the stretch From what I saw.

Beaver trails. Deer and turkeys won't cross water.

No, there were deer tracks all up and down the trails, that and the guy hunting them seeing the deer swim the river climb the bank and shake the water off like dogs pretty much confirms it to me, but you are welcome to have your opinion.

Since this is the serious forum I just wanted to make sure people realized the little winking symbol meant I was being facetious. I hunt in the inside bend of the river and have seen plenty of deer swim it and turkeys fly across it.

Yeah I thought it was clear you were kidding. I bet you haven't seen any turkeys swim across the river though...

Never seen one swim the river but the gators would love it if they tried. I have seen them fly from one side to the other. I know the've done it when I've disrupted them. I've had them come down on me from the other side also. I assumed something scared them from the other side.

I grew up 5 miles from there and have hunted that area most of my life. The pressure is pretty high around there just like most everywhere else you go.
