Y'all click here Cerakote then choose your color. Scroll down and you'll see "Sample projects with this Color". You can see various projects there. As far as its durability, I was reassembling a 1911 and re-installing the front sight. My brass drift punch slipped and hit the slide I had just sprayed. Having used a lot of duracoat, I knew I'd just goobered up and was gonna get to redo it. Well, after my cuss fit I looked and couldn't even tell where the punch hit the slide.

I've got a Glock 17 that I sprayed and have shot 5000rds plus since and in and out of a holster all the time. It's been sprayed 4years now and it just now is showing signs of wear. With cerakote there is no maintenance or care necessary. Clean your gun that is it. Te coating needs nothing it is chemically resistant. You cannot use hydro dipping on top of it for that very reason. How thick is it? Does it feel rough? No it is smooth as glass when done properly. Cerakote is between 0.5mil and 1.0 mil thick. If you want it to shine a little more put some oil on it. Do you need to do anything special to it? NO! It is a two part ceramic based coating that is taking over the industry.

Correct however past 24hrs on cold cure and any of the bake on it cannot

Correct however past 24hrs on cold cure and any of the bake on it cannot The 24 hour dipping window is standard with any dipping unless using a water based paint for your base. We use water based paints for this very reason due to the fact that it gives you an infinite dipping window. C-series Cerakote isn't fully cured after 24 hours and could realistically be dipped up to 48 hours but ideally dipping within the first 2-3 hours is best IMO to avoid film adhesion issues. As far as H-series, if you are familiar with both Cerakote and Hydro processes, and the part is prepped correctly, H-series can be used as a base for dipping with no effect on the durability of the finish. In reality, there actually isn't a lot of price difference from using standard basecoat painting vs. Cerakote due to the fact that using Cerakote eliminates having to use a primer on metal and adhesion promoter/primer on plastics. You also get the advantage of having the protection of the Cerakote on internal gun parts that you don't get with standard basecoat dipping. It is a little more time consuming using Cerakote as a base but it can be and is done.
