We tried to kill the big 4 point but it just did not happen. He almost made a mistake on the Jan 30th when he let hammerdown see him scent checking a field at 430pm. But he moved on before a shot could be had. I do find this deers yearly movements to be very interesting. The last 2 years he shows up on 1 mineral lick in late september no pics anywhere else. He remains in that area for about 2 weeks, he then moves about a half mile across a county road to another mineral lick about October 15th. He will stay in about a 20 acre area that has food , cover, and does until about January 20th. At this time he moves across a small swamp and goes to an area with 2 green fields and will be on these 2 fields every day or night until the last day. By the 10th of February he will be gone and will hopefully show back up late september next year.

If you remember what datehammerdown saw him, I'll bet you can kill him right at the same location around the same day if not the same day next year.

I could kill him in a week but I would have to hunt 4 or 5 days in a row and I only get to go one afternoon a week if I am lucky. So the odds are in his favor. Oh well it is always fun to build history with an animal.

That's an impressive animal. I'd dedicate my season to one like him. Tip of the cap to him for giving you guys the slip once again, and a wish of hope he survives and is healthy to do battle once more next season.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now
